Overseas Pakistanis sent $55.01 billion in last 5 years

The overseas Pakistan had sent US $ 55.01 billion from the financial year 2008-09 to 2012-13‚ said Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.

According to the ministry's document‚ the remittances had shown a growth ratio of 5.56 per cent during the financial year 2012-13 as compared with 2011-12. The remittances during July 2012 to June 2013 were US $13‚920.26 million as compared to US $ 13‚186.62 million remitted during the fiscal year 2011-12.


Giving breakup of $ 55.01 billion‚ the details show that $7.81 billion had been remitted in 2008-09‚ $8.90 billion in 2009-10‚ $11.20 billion in 2010-11‚ 13.18 billion in 2011-12 and 13.92 billion in 2012-13.
