Now it's no secret, the Pakistan Air Force is in dire need of some new Aircraft. Things haven't been going very well as of late, here is a quick update on the situation.
IAF:
36-Rafale's
270-Super Sukhoi 30's
60-MiG 29UPG's
40-Updated Mirage 2000's
Meanwhile in Pakistan
74-F-16's (18 F-16C/D Block-52+, 45 F-16A/B Block-15 MLU, and 13 F-16A/B Block-15 ADF)
60-JF-17's Block 2 (Block 3 in development)
The rest of our Aircraft our mostly useless (and should had been retired a while back)
So things aren't going as lovely as we would like for it to be. Now Pakistan still has a while before it will need to induct a 5th gen fighter (post 2025), almost a decade from now. There is no secret that it needs a current gen platform to fill the gaps. India ordering 36 Rafales doesn't help the situation at all. There has been alot of discussion on this forum that the PAF is looking for a new fighter (of the current generation) and media reports of Pakistani interest in these fighters (like the Su-35).
Now the Eurofighter and Rafale are pretty much off the table due to costs. The Gripen is too similar to JF-17. The J-10 has not been of liking to our Air Marshals. The Su-35 is a more likely contender though its a gamble.
Bro, the only most ideal option is the F-16 SV or Block 70. The Indians already rejected the aircraft and why the PAF didn't capitalize is beyond me. The F-16 is the most advanced one out there. Probably just as good if not better then the Rafale and Eurofighter. A familiar platform and much more cost effective then the other options. Now your probably being like "the US didn't want to sell us the Block 52 and you talking about the Block 70, LOL Hassan is a dumbass." Now you are correct to an extent, but you need to remember the US was willing to sell the aircraft IF we could cover the funds ourselves which apparently we couldn't.
You can thank this handsome guy for that:
Now back to the F-16 Block 70, if we order lets say 1 or 2 squadrons and upgrade the other 4 to Block 70 as well. The holy cow, we got 6 high quality squadrons flanked by a lot of JF-17's. Equip those with the AIM-120D and AIM9X and boom, we got power in the sky until 2030. Now really this is the only feasible option that plays in our favour. The case for any other aircraft is too weak, i'm not convinced. Whether you would believe me or not this could have been a very feasible option.
But the reason we aren't getting more F-16's, let alone the Super Viper. It's because of the apparent case of mental retardation that our foreign policy makers suffer from. (And this is excluding us that Hussain Huqqani guy).
Just look at this crap:

Hand over the jets and pay for them too
This is what it literally sounds like, it's just not reasonable

US tells Pakistan it will have to fund F-16 fighter jets itself
Have things gotten this sad?

Pakistan will get jets from elsewhere if F-16 funding not arranged, Aziz cautions US
I don't think threatening is a good idea....
They didn't fund the purchase, are we getting jets elsewhere or what????
Now I will say, the US should not put conditions on this deal. But if they are paying for it then it's fair. If Pakistan pays for the jets on their own then there will be no "strings attached". All i'm saying is with better lobbyists and actual CASH things can go better. And even a F-16 Block 70 deal would be possible.
WAIT, whats this im hearing
