The whole thing is written in old colonial style English which complicates a reader’s understanding of what the PAF is trying to say and the message they want to convey. Beyond messaging, this colonial mentality is prevalent among Pakistanis and the entrenching of the elitist culture. We routinely find this colonial culture in the interactions between the moderators/senior members and the general users of the forum. It’s a sickness which masquerades as knowledge/power.

Americans can indeed object to British English.

Pakistanis did fight Colonial British Raj for an independent Pakistan so mentality is not the issue here. Secondly, this is like not to repeat same name in single sentence. . . You can try to digest that like Fighting Falcon=F-16 or Strike Eagle=F=15 or JSF=F-35 hence, writer choose to keep it numerical model reference to namely called hence, F-16 with JF-17 and then Thunders with Mirages.

You have issues in regard to British English but that does not mean you may start to demean others for no reason.

One of the rational for the plain English campaign was to eliminate regional/national biases. The driving purpose was to create consistency among English speaking countries; so your arguments about British/American preferences are mute.

Granted Pakistan was a British colony but that doesn’t excuse the pathetic insistence on outdated colonial English style of writing. Your next door neighbor and the country you partitioned from doesn’t share such tradition. It’s a uniquely Pakistani incompetence.

Furthermore, it depends upon what you are writing in British English or even drafting and there are lot of differences between formal or informal, legal or business draft, institutional correspondence to bureaucracy notifications etc etc even to the extent of Presidential Orders or Gazette Notifications. You can stick to driving purpose of that plain English but that call of colonial mentality sickness etc was indeed provocative.
