One jawan was killed while four others got injured during a Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district.

"During an operation in Narayanpur district, there was a scuffle with the Naxalites. One jawan has been martyred and four others are injured," said R.K. Vij, the ADG of Naxal operations.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had earlier last month asked the Maoists to shun the path of violence, saying there is no space for violence in a democracy.

there are reports on Naxals/Maoists are trying to make a tie up with ULFA.but there's nothing substantial on it yet.in fact,they've lost their influence in WB and some surrounding states and are confined in some states.

chattisgarh govt. should learn sme lessons from andhra pradesh govt of 2004 . though ysr regime was corrupt they were successful in eradicating the naxal problem and in bringing maoists in to public stream to follow democratic process to express their disatissfaction..today there is no naxal menace in either tg/a.p while the top positions in armed maoist stream are being lead by telugu speaking people..
