One BSF jawan martyred as Pakistan violates ceasefire in J&K's Poonch

NEW DELHI: One BSF soldier was martyred when Pakistani troops opened fire at a forward defence location (FDL) post of the BSF along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.


The ceasefire violation took place around 6:30pm. An Assistant Sub-Inspector of the BSF were martyred in the attack, a defence spokesperson based in Jammu said.


"At about 06:30pm, there was heavy firing from Pakistani (army) posts at BSF posts at LoC in Balnoisector of Poonch district with snipper and automatic weapons," the BSF officer said.




In another incident of terrorist activity in the valley, terrorists have attacked a police party in Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir. Eight policement have recived bulltet injures during the attack and search operations are being undertaken in search of the terrorists.

Totally agreed, I respect such sentiments from both sides. No one winning this war anymore, both are losing brave soldiers.
