Once you’re Pakistani, there is no going back to India

I'm surprised by this comment by you sir, "all" American citizens? What about David Headley? One can't ignore the realities of the world we live in and those are that Pakistan is a breeding ground for extremism and a lot of this is targeted at India. Better to be safe than sorry.
Yes, despite David Headley.
The thing is how many documented pakistani terrorist do we know of? Have we suspended all visas of pakistanis in India?
If yes then sure, bring people of pakistani origin under the gambit.

But if you are issuing visas to pakistani citizens and denying visas to people of pakistani origin from US, that doesn't fit, right?

I'm pretty sure the visas of Pakistanis travelling from Pakistan face the same level of scrutiny as those US citizens of Pakistani origin. Nowhere does it state India has banned those US citizens of Pakistani origin, simply they will face a longer waiting time and a higher level of scrutiny- this is the same for Pakistanis applying from Pakistan.

This is not some arbitrary policy but a reaction to very real and horrific events. Just like the US massively bolstered its security process for all those trying to enter the US post-9/11.

David headley was a fodder that indian gov had fed to its people to reinforce the whole terror attack narrative. nd indians like a kid waiting for a candy grabbed the theory and ran away with it.

.
There is nostalgia among the older generation of Pakistanis and Indians who migrated after independence. After another decade when the old timers die out the visa line will be shorter.

First, I don't care what you are sure of and second, as I said before, this attitude hurts India more than anyone else so keep at it.

Thank you for your unsolicited advice..My thanks would have been more genuine if you were NOT full of $hit!

This should change, irrespective of origin, all american citizens should be treated the same.

I would respectfully disagree, denying visa to american citizens just because they are of pakistani origin doesn't make sense to me. It is essentially termin everyone associated with pakistan is a security risk to India, which is not true at all. Such generalization is an insult of the democratic values and equity that India has held up against all odds since it's inception. This is wrong especially when you give visas to citizens of pakistan itself.

It would be the sovereign right of India to do what is in the best interests of India. There is usually no denial of visa to US citizens of Pakistani origin (unless there is a clear problem) but the issue is divided into 2 parts.

One is for those U.S. citizens who hold dual nationality - they are not allowed to apply on their U.S. passports - India sees them as Pakistani nationals alone & they can only apply on their Pakistani passports which can take pretty much any length of time to be processed.

Two, if the US citizen of Pakistani origin has no Pakistani passport/citizenship, he/she will have to submit proof of renunciation of Pakistani citizenship to then be able to apply on their U.S. passport which would then take around 6-8 weeks to process.

Why do you think India should change its rules?

Yes, this a security issue, but also a humanitarian issue. Government of India should devise a way to give visas to people who genuinely deserve it.

Because you posted the following
". Even this time requirement is just a scam; visas are not issued at all even after the person has waited for six weeks."

That was in the article, probably refers to Pakistani Americans who use (or forced to) Pakistani passports to file for visa. There is a delay but not every claim should be taken as the absolute truth here.

just anwer my question.... do indian drink cow urine?
@Ghareeb_Da_Baal @Akheilos @KingMamba
Dude HOW THE HELL AM I TO KNOW? I am not Indian! :o:

Talk about a hell hole more than a century grudge! :tsk:

And they question if we are thought to hate in school.... I guess you dont need to be thought to hate in school when it comes from the air you breathe in India!

Before any of you claim this as a below the belt kindly do explain how else is it termed cozy you claim you are not thought to hate in school so where does the shit come from?

I wish someone would sue the government for fraud of being the freedom police and also for being bitchy and riding the discrimination (on someone else's soil with THEIR citizens - even if dual citizen or whatever it is American choice to give them dual citizen and India can cry about it all it wants) high horse like an expert ...

India continues to trivialise their backgrounds, denying them visit visas to its esteemed land only because they are expats born in Pakistan.

people of Pakistani origin, it is six weeks. Even this time requirement is just a scam; visas are not issued at all even after the person has waited for six weeks. According to the US Code Title 42, Chapter 21 of civil rights,

“Discrimination against any person ‘based on age, disability, gender, race, national origin and religion (among other things) in a number of settings—including education, employment, access to businesses and buildings, federal services and more’ is prohibited.”

Yet the Indian consulate carries out this blatant discrimination most unabashedly on US soil against US citizens.

Maybe in India (speaking from how India sees it - which is below)

The Indian government’s excuse for taking so long for visa processing, although in reality no visas are issued, is to curtail violence in the country. This excuse is, however, most flimsy and unconvincing. 500,000 US citizens of Pakistani origin cannot be held accountable for a handful of miscreants who also happened to be of Pakistani origin.

Every Indian should be held responsible for the high rape rate too? You cant turn the tables around coz we dont see you like this but your logic should see you like this!

David Headly would be the right person to answer why India discriminates.
No...Indians would be the right people to be held accountable for why India has a disease called discrimination...Just like how all over PDF Indians go crazy about some Muslims some Pakistanis do something and a whole nation is questioned....well DITTO!

India rightfully took a stern stand against China’s discrimination against Indian citizens. In an interview to the ANI, External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna said, “It has come to the notice of the government of India that China is issuing different visas to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We are taking up the issue with the Chinese government,” he said. “We will tell them that visa related issue should be uniform, there should not be any discrimination among the Indian nationals while issuing visas.”
Talk about H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y
