On Free Will and Destiny

What is inent ?

My intent is to pray for your loved ones...

I shall explain Intent later...and tag you as well... you focus on what is the most important and the rest can take care of itself...

I am sorry if I pushed a little earlier...my Intent was Good but it might have had unintended effect. So, kindly, accept my appology!

I read surah Al- Haqqah the other day again; and came across so many things that i didn't ponder upon before.

I am pasting it here and highlighting the parts which i found to be really something to think about!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Inevitable Reality -

What is the Inevitable Reality?

And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality?

Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity.

So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast].

And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind

Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.

Then do you see of them any remains?

And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin.

And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity].

Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship

That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.

Then when the Horn is blown with one blast

And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow -

Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,

And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.

And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].

That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed.

So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record!

Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account."

So he will be in a pleasant life -

In an elevated garden,

Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near.

[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past."

But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record

And had not known what is my account.

I wish my death had been the decisive one.

My wealth has not availed me.

Gone from me is my authority."

[ Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him.

Then into Hellfire drive him.

Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him."

Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great,

Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor.

So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend

Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds;

None will eat it except the sinners.

So I swear by what you see

And what you do not see

[That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger.

And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe.

Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember.

[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings,

We would have seized him by the right hand;

Then We would have cut from him the aorta.

And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him.

And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous.

And indeed, We know that among you are deniers.

And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers.

And indeed, it is the truth of certainty.

So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Made me think that here Allah is talking about the truth of reality, what is inevitable reality? And here the word reality is used.

In another verse in quran surah Al-Hadid 57:20 Allah s.w.t says

Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.

And here the word delusion is used.
Very interesting verses to ponder upon.

.
Intent, in urdu would be roughly translated to chahat... reminded me of hadith e qudsi i read when i was a kid,

DBek_KkXoAEioEb.jpg

If i just follow this line of thought then by the looks of it, intent is subjected to Allah's will, we can have a different intent but we will be made tired but won't be able to achieve. Is will a driver of freedom? Idk, again freedom in the sense of our own perception won't be achieved. But may be the real freedom is something else, away from the constrains of our perception.

Real Freedom may just be from the shackles of the Nafs (Ego, Self etc).

And then comes the part that Allama Iqbal put so beautifully - ... khuda khud poochay, bataa teri raza kya hai. Maybe this is when the Intent of a momin becomes the Will of The Almighty.

That my friend is the real deal.... But i think the prerequisite of that is knowledge, not information, but knowledge of reality and once you have it, you are already there.

Oh sir,
I thought inent was a word but not on dictionary. Perhaps earlier you made a spelling mistake which I didn’t think of,

( you wrote intent as inent),

And no sorry and all, after all you are a teacher to me :-)

.
Everything has a reason why... When an event occurs it must happen for a reason, even this thread, there was a reason as to why I began writing it, and there will be a reason why you will refuse to read further and a reason why you will read further.

There is a reason for everything, as the world is Cause & Effect, and if any person were to trace every cause down to its atomic structure therein will be cause, and a reason why it occurred, and it will be illuminated to the understand mind as to, why, if it were possible to investigate it...

This principle also applies to human beings, if for everything there is a cause and effect, then there is a reason as to why we do certain things and a reason as to why we don't. This brings us to the question of necessity, we recognise the necessity behind a ball touching the ground when it is let go off, taking into account gravity, mass etc. This simple cause and effect ratio is also apparent in human beings as each and every one of their actions there is that necessity also, but it is not realised due to the immediacy of the act.

Free will is a complicated affair... Do we have it or do we not? Take into question an athlete that shows up to a race track; Take this persons actions beforehand, there is the training process, the preparation, the application, the attendance to the race track. And finally as he is prepared, just when the ring blows, is there any shadow of a doubt that this person will change their mind at the sound of the ring? It is possible, but highly unlikely. Did this person possess any free-will? At some point this person may have when he was at a crossroads of reaching a decision in there might have been a semblance of free will, but as soon as the decision was made to become an athlete, everything thereafter was destiny.

Destiny is the result of a decision that is decided upon and every decision thereafter reflecting that decision that was made in the beginning.

Individually, each one of us is technically a free acting agent, but from afar and from a perspective, this is not the case. Although each one of us believes in being free, but as we have all each made a decision at some point we are only simply heading in the destined direction and are simply going through the process of cause and effect eventually reaching that destined point.

Bro watch this.

That my friend is the real deal.... But i think the prerequisite of that is knowledge, not information, but knowledge of reality and once you have it, you are already there.

Inevitable Reality = Judgement Day, Hell and Heavens

Delusion = What we are seeing with our two eyes, this Test, the 3rd life.

Knowledge ... As Quran says "men possessed of minds" many times. Reflection.
