Oman has joined a Saudi-led coalition of Muslim countries to fight terrorism, a Saudi official source said on Wednesday, adding this showed Muscat, traditionally on friendly terms with Tehran, was returning to a Gulf Arab "consensus against Iran".

The sultanate indicated its willingness to take part in the 40-country alliance, a coalition unveiled by Riyadh in December 2015, in a letter to Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman, the source said.

"Oman has always in the past taken positions and policies that are contrary to the Gulf positions regarding the region. This now shows the return of Oman to the Gulf consensus against Iran and its political positions," the source said.

Interesting news.

.
Now Oman can too experience being raped by sandal-wearing illiterate tribesman. lmao

. . . . . . . .
This alliance is not against Iran, but it will be against terror organizations such as Daesh, Hezbollah, Houthies, PKK and Alqaeda etc.
It's written in article: Gulf consensus against Iran

Anyway jihadis and terrorists like al Qaeda, IS and PKK are different from Hezbollah (Honor of Lebanon) and Houthis.

. .
Wasnt Oman the founding member of this alliance already?

" The Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism (IMAFT) (Arabic: التحالف الإسلامي العسكري لمحاربة الإرهاب‎‎), alternative translation Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, is an intergovernmental military alliance of countries in the Muslim world united around military intervention against ISIL and other counter-terrorist activities. When the coaltion was announced there were 34 members; by March 2016 this had risen to 39."

No, I think it's against all terror organization no matter who they are. Unlike Wikipedia article, the joint statement of the 34 chiefs of staff who met in Riyadh for the formation of the alliance clearly declared that the alliance will protect Ummah against all terror organizations no matter who they are.

Check out the 2nd paragraph of the statement.

ISIL is the top priority, because it hits from Morocco to Iraq, of course any other branches or terrorist organizations hitting or destabilizing the Muslim world countries will be dealt with after authorization from the concerned country..
