ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ayad Ameen Madani has said that the organization will continue to support Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir issue.
“OIC stands united with Kashmiris,” he said in a joint news conference along with Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad on Saturday.
The OIC secretary general said that Kashmir issue should be resolved as per United Nations resolutions.
In his remarks, the adviser lauded the consistent support of the OIC on Kashmir issue.
Sartaj Aziz said that peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute is imperative for durable peace and stability in the region. He said that Kashmiris are protesting peacefully and they must be given their right to self-determination.
The adviser expressed grave concern over extra judicial killings of people in Indian Occupied Kashmir, and said that during the last 40 days, over 80 people have been martyred in the held valley.
The foreign affairs adviser said that Pakistan has raised the Kashmir issue at international level and Kashmiris should be given the right to self-determination in accordance with their aspirations.
