The attack on school children at Peshawar today has left me as indeed it would have left countless parents numb with shock , pain & grief .

Children are the sweetest part of a family, society & humanity . They are to be loved, nurtured & cherished - not shot in cold blood.

My heart goes out to parents & families who will never be able to recover from this catastrophic loss.

As a mark of respect & to show our love for the children who will smile no more may I suggest that the wall paper / image on the home page be appropriately changed for a month - images of smiling children full of hope , love & life .. or something as considered appropriate.

Beslan tragedy all over again!

What kind of depravity and indecency does someone have to believe in to be capable of such dastardly and inhuman acts of such a magnitude? What did these degenerates gain by targeting innocent children?

My deepest heartfelt condolences to all our brethren across the border for this unimaginable and tremendous loss of innocence and lives. I simply cannot find words to say anything else!!!

Cant wrap my head around this man.
What kind of a person would selectively kill children goddammit.
My heart goes out to all the parents who had to endure this tragedy.
This is just wrong.Parents should be burying children.

I cannot imagine the trauma and horror those young children must have had to face, watching their friends being shot, and a teacher being burnt alive. I don't know if they can ever be free from the ghost of such a horrific experience. This is the most heinous act of terror I have heard of, other than the Beslan school siege in Russia. I cannot think of a fitting punishment for the perpetrators of this act, there is nothing that can absolve them, ever. If I could, I would personally disembowel anybody who played a part in brutalizing and killing so many little children.

This is one of those days when India, Pak etc doesn't matter, and international boundaries and geopolitics pale into insignificance. This is one of those days when the entire humanity ought to burn with the fire of righteous indignation. For once, I earnestly wish the authorities in Pak all the very best - I hope they will hunt down and eradicate this scourge of humanity.

And one morning all that was burning,
one morning the bonfires
leapt out of the earth
devouring human beings --
and from then on fire,
gunpowder from then on,
and from then on blood.
Bandits with planes and Moors,
bandits with finger-rings and duchesses,
bandits with black friars spattering blessings
came through the sky to kill children
and the blood of children ran through the streets
without fuss, like children's blood.
Jackals that the jackals would despise,
stones that the dry thistle would bite on and spit out,
vipers that the vipers would abominate!

Come and see the blood in the streets.
Come and see
The blood in the streets.
Come and see the blood
In the streets!

(Pablo Neruda.)

Good suggestion and appreciate this good gesture and empathy from Indian members
There is no Indian or Pakistani or hindu or muslim when such deeds are commited - it goes way beyond such artificialities. I can hear the cries of those children in me.

@WebMaster : I second the suggestion that PDF's banner be temporarily changed in solidarity with the children. I remember when that avalance killed a company of soldiers, PDF's banner was changed in their memory. This is one massacre that has left all of us, irrespective of nationality, numb with shock and horror. I think every single PDF member who has a heart would like to see PDF honouring the memory of those children.

All schools across India will hold two minutes of silence, to show solidarity with the victims.

In my lifetime I have come across all sorts of swines.

I cannot comprehend what type of men would wake up in the morning and say to themselves ' Lets go & kill children today" ?

TTP in their urge to get even has done the most despicable thing any human or in human can do.

They have struck the softest of soft targets , hit soldiers where it hurts the most - their families & dear ones.

I hope Pk. ISI and PA put aside their internal issues and go for them and seek retribution the kind they have never sought before.

No killing is acceptable but killing poor defenseless children attending school is worse than what Boko Haram does.

Seriously, Pk needs to take a call.

It tells me one thing and one thing only: this enemy is very dedicated in its cause. This is something very serious, eventually the average person will become involved as the government will never be able to clear this mess, not in a hundred years.
