China accused a US intelligence agency of hacking a government-funded university with aeronautics and space research programs, ramping up a dispute between the world’s two largest economies over cyber snooping.

The National Security Agency’s Office of Tailored Access Operations carried out the attacks on Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’an, according to China’s National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center.

A team from the center and 360 Security Technology Inc. analyzed the university’s information systems after an attack from overseas was reported in June, the statement added. The NSA conducted more than 10,000 “vicious” cyberattacks on Chinese targets in recent years, stealing more than 140 gigabytes of data with “great value,” the team said.

While US hacking is nothing new, this is the first time the Chinese government has openly accused the NSA of its crime. This is significant in the way China will deal with the US moving forward with a more confrontational approach. Take a page from the US, China could also follow up the case with charges against NSA staff and head.

While US hacking is nothing new, this is the first time the Chinese government has openly accused the NSA of its crime. The american been stealing Chinese data for decades but with worsen ties, there is no need to worry about backlash over such announcement by China.

I have always post that windows is world biggest malware. I am not sure how hackers can exploit non trivial loopholes in Windows, Its almost like the likelihood of spot such vulnerabilities are 1 in a billion years.

If you use Linux, no one can hack you. All Linux and her derivative hacking are due to installed malware such as whatsapp...etc.

It is as if OS is that difficult and her creation results in a lot of intrinsic bug... NOT True. Everyone can look at open source Linux kernel, nothing can be simpler.
