So... it can stay in the air for 30 minutes total?

That's close to 40% less than the F-35, which also has more hardpoints.

Not bad for a 1st indigenous design.

Obviously, you have no idea what the "combat range" means. Not your fault though.

MiG17/19/21s were the same with 1 hour of fuel, Israelis usually pounced on them when they started going back to base.

But i'm not sure if i'm trolling myself... :partay:

EDIT: Ok the 2nd and 3rd sentences weren't troll.

PAF pilots flying earliest mig21s also shit down IAF jets (on their way back to base- too bad some Israeli pilots survived Coz the jets ran out of fuel to give a chase to the Israelis)

God Damn it BETTER!

Thank you, it is the internet so teach me rather than just pointing out the obvious.

Combat range aka Combat Radius for Wikipedia Combat radius - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia :

Combat radius refers to the distance from an airbase that a warplane can reach, patrol there for a set amount of time and return to base with minimal fuel left, thus completing a combat mission. For a given aircraft, its combat radius varies according to whether or not it carries external drop tanks, the level (altitude) of the combat mission, and the amount and weight of ordnance it is carrying:

  • An aircraft with drop tanks will have a greater combat radius than the same one without, due to the extra amount of fuel carried.
  • An aircraft engaged in a low-level (lo) combat mission will have a smaller combat radius than the same one engaged in a high-level (hi) mission, due to higher fuel consumption at lower altitudes (higher atmospheric pressure / air density).
  • An aircraft with more and heavier ordnance will have a smaller combat radius than the same one with less and lighter ordnance, due to higher fuel consumption at heavier weights.
The combat radius of an aircraft is often given with its mission profile (without in-air refueling). For example:

  • The F-16 Fighting Falcon's combat radius is 550 km (340 mi) on a hi-lo-hi mission with six 450 kg (1,000 lb) bombs.
  • The F/A-18 Hornet has a combat radius of 537 km (330 mi) on a hi-lo-lo-hi mission.

dude, @Thəorətic Muslim is talking about station time (30 minutes), it is a set time independent to combat range...(km)

Station time are either 30 minutes(F-16 CAS), 1 hours (F-15E CAP) or 90 minutes (A-10/AC-130) An aircraft enter station time when they are deployed to station, they will hold for the station time without refuelling and answer to call for any kind of support (Combat Mission) from air/ground

combat range is the range that set to that amount of time (for the purpose of the mission) with respect to the fuel consumption and fuel capacity. But the station time did not change regardless if combat range change...

China's leading aircraft manufacturer is about to start exporting its fifth-generation fighter jet, according to industry sources.
In a recent report, China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC) revealed some tactical and technical characteristics of the J-31 Gyrfalcon fighter at the last air show in Beijing.

Li Yuhai, deputy general manager of AVIC, told reporters in November, “Since the start of the J-31's development, we have planned to use the plane to end some foreign nations' dominance of the fifth-generation fighter jet. One of its variants will be specifically designed for export,” Chinese media reported.
Export of the J-31 would be a breakthrough for China's aviation industry because the plane would give AVIC a substantial boost in competition with Western defense aircrafts.

The J-31 has a combat range of 1,200km and a top speed of 2,205 km/h. The fifth-generation fighter jet also has a maximum payload capacity of 8 metric tons and service span of 30 years.
Xu Bangnian, a professor at the PLA Air Force Command Institute, said he expected international demand for the plane as it seemed to be the only choice for developing countries who are interested in an affordable fifth-generation stealth aircraft.

Even Turkey will buy it.
