Northeast youth beaten to death in Delhi

For that one should have a full knowledge of what is offensive to what people in what part of the world, and I am afraid people are not so knowledgeable, nor do they have any cultural experience of all the places in the world to know what would be offensive. In fact people are getting so worked up over this word is something confounding to me considering I had never associated it with any bad meaning ever. I did not know Bihari is a wrong word either, I thought that was just a description of the place the person comes from. Next what? Being insulted on being called an Indian?

I can say one thing for sure...even if they don't know the meaning 99% of those using that word knows that its an abusive and people from NE don't like it.

Had this incident happened somewhere else I`d have been a little less upset , but the fact that it happened in Delhi , where 80 % people are literate , how come it could happen in busy market during day time and the boy was assaulted twice. One slap or punch would have been ok but he was assaulted twice . Although he already paid some money he was assaulted again by gang with rods and stick , for what motive ??criminals don`t do this .. is it common in delhi for any petty altercation to reach such dreadful conclusion?

To me it clearly seems vendetta and fallout of the Bodo and Bangaldeshi clash. People unable to differentiate the different ethnicities of NE, taking it out on any NE looking person. More a case of the socioreligious conflict ongoing in NE India.

In that case, they must be brought to the book and this is where my description of Delhites as a regressed people.

Current GDP/capita is 1K but growing at around 5% a year, which is quicker than India that is around 3% a year.

BD GDP/Capita is now 70% of the level of India whereas it was around 50% 5 years ago. This shows how quickly BD is catching up with India.

BD had 24 years LESS to develop than India and that is a fact that no-one can deny. BD would be FAR AHEAD now if it started it's development in 1947 like India did.

Mate, I can understand your feelings. I'm also upset on this and so are the people who are right there in streets fighting for justice. This could have happened with anyone. There are many morons among those 80 % literate in Delhi. Students + Illiterates from different states (+ Delhi) are also involved in crimes like Chain snatching etc in Delhi. Last month, outside my institute, motorcyclists, tried to snatch my hand bad, I didn't leave it...I got dragged on Road, got hurt. However, nobody came to my rescue...I'll just say, he was caught at a wrong place, at wrong time.
