Nope, wrong. We don't say that at all. I am from the mohmand tride, but specifically my family tree is in the Peshawar museum. My grandpa having political power got hold of it. It was translated from Persian and it translated that, we were the kids of the king of Baghdad. Also that we were sayyid. So we may say we are of some tride, but realistically we are a mix of different people that came to these lands.
This story is considered part of Pashtun folk-lore, but yes obviously not every Pashtun tribe is going to believe in it.
