What's new

No work but 472 crore spent on Gujarat Metro

.
It was Reliance's job to administer quality checks on the products it was buying from the Chinese company, afterall contract for metro was given to Reliance.

yes, the reliance is also responsible.but the problem found on the 1st batch of metro. ie, the imported one.

.
472 crore spent and foundation stone laid last week ?? They spent 472 crore on what ??

Well, they need land to build the track and stations, Dont they ? And they can not start work on this mega project with zero funds in their hands, can they !? It is a no brainer.

-_- The land where they build is all mainly on roads it goes with roads no metro goes where roads don't go no land is required only land required is for depot etc which certainly doesn't cost 472 cores when the total project cost 1000 crore. Only 10% amount is paid before project starts making it 100 crore amount. Don't try to be a bhakt, its ok if a problem is related to Gujrat every state has problem

Where did you get that 1000 crore for the total project cost? The article itself states 10773 crore for the Phase–1.

.
The phase 1 is around 1137 crores round figured to 1000 and total project cost is 6500 crores, plus I am just talking about Ahemdabad Gandhinagar linking

Can you provide a link for that? The OP itself states 10773 crore for the Phase–1.

Besides, where is the break-down of the cost which means 400 crore is for just one link?

400 crore initial spending for a 10K crore project is entirely acceptable. This just seems to be the usual sensationalist media which does not do its homework before jumping.

Actually it is not, laying stone laid doesn't mean that the project cost has been given to the company, it makes no sense in spending 472 crores before even an infrastructure or construction work has started.

Of course it does, any project of significant scale requires CapEx before construction can begin. The company responsible for the construction should and must provide the expenditure break-up.
