No More Gurkhas For Indian Army As Nepal FM Declares 1947 Treaty "Redundant"

OP was claiming that Gurkhas and Sikhs are the only ones brave and strong enough to defend the entire territorial integrity of India...so I was just pointing out the current actively involved troops deployed in the valley and LoC who are RR & BSF comprising of men from across India

In terms of your claim for Sikhs & Gurkhas being in "disproportionate numbers"...yeah, they do contribute largely to the IA with Gurkhas numbering around 30k and the Sikhs being higher but they're still a fraction of the 1.2mn strong army. UP is the highest contributor to the armed and paramilitary forces given their huge population

The Rashtriya Rifles and BSF who man the LoC and counter terrorist activities in Kashmir don't comprise of any Gurkhas.

We have been seeing a lot of gurkhas getting killed on LOC which is disproportionate to their numbers.

Circumstantial evidence of IA dependency on Gurkhas and Sikhs is certainly there. What happened when a bunch of "miscellaneous" led by Babu went to do a Gurkha's job in Ladakh recently?

Plenty of Gurkas are dieing on LOC, it seems you living under the rock. Even the famous snap taken by PLA showing Indian army soldiers tied up like sacrificial animals, they were gurkhas as well.

You do know a ton of North Eastern folks look similar right or did you automatically assume anyone with han features in IA to be a Gurkha...secondly only two faces were visible in that pic. While one looked North Eastern, the other seemed to be from the hindi belt (UP or Bihar)

Just because you mark em in red doesn't make em a Gurkha. They can be anyone from the Assam rifles, Naga Regiment, Ladakh Scouts, Sikkim Scouts or Arunachal Scouts. Also, the second guy doesn't look han...he's more like someone from UP/Bihar
