What's new

No benefit of long march unless resignations are submitted, says Fazl ahead of PDM meeting

Stop the deals from happening? You think establishment is foolish enough to give these crooks another NRO? :D

Foolish enough, no. Pragmatic enough, probably. And yes, IK already thwarted one such attempted fraternisation, he could do it again. But each time the stakes increase.

IK has made it clear from day one: Cough up the loot and you are free to leave.

Zardari has been coughing up and will continue to do so until Billo and Asifa are able to hold Sindh without him around. Dethroning IK does not favour him at all as he doesn't want all the current freedom to be taken from him (& land back in jail). IK in opposition will give him time to focus and do jalsas in Sindh. All this is not so interesting anymore ... waiting to see if and how PPP will support PTI to split Punjab into 2 (or more) provinces!!

There will be no future PM from PMLN or PMLS.

Ok, disagree but let’s see what happens.

. .
Reports floating around that Nawaz has put the decision of resignations of PMLN legislators in the hands of Fazl-ur-Rehman.

In addition, some PDM mouthpieces have basically stopped even mentioning the PPP (PPP isn't going to resign - they have too much to lose in Sindh and the Senate).

If Mullah Diesel decides to pull the trigger on resignations, Nawaz & the PMLN are going to be relegated to the dustbin of history for the foreseeable future, and Zardari will have shown once again how shrewd of a politician he is, compromising & retreating where necessary in order to survive.

:D

I think the establishment has to come out and take clear sides, this half in , half our stuff has limited success.
by establishment you no doubt mean security services and not the bureaucracy and judiciary

in your Canada who backs whom ? how often does CSIS come on TV to announce/declare their support for Trudeau. are they half in or half out?

As for the resignation thing, it is a threat designed to disable parliament and remove credibility. PML it might surprise you to know is fairly confident with this strategy, whether it’s followed through is still an open question. They will need to answer the question of how they deal with elections on those seats, and what happens if they win those seats again. What then, do they resign again after winning?

It's a win win situation for PTI. If new election happen on vacated seats of PML(N), there is a strong chance PTI bagging more seats and raising their tally in parliament, specially at a time when PTI is turning heat on ECP. This might have negative effect on PTI coalition parties such as MQM and PML-Q whose support might not to be needed to complete the remaining term of the government.
