New Security Video Shows Moments Two Iranian Missiles Hit Ukrainian Airlines Flight 752 in Iran

First impact is around 12 second ... given the missile speed of 850 meters per second aircraft is 10.2 km away . thats nearly edge of engagement envelope

What an idiot this was almost at visual range

Hence the need for an IRST or E/O system as a secondary confirmatory system for these lower tier air defenses. One mistake like this will have huge ramifications domestically and internationally.

Pakistan should learn from this and equip all its SAM site with E/O backups and AI based learning software, so they learn what normally passes over their sites, as well as synchronizing with civilian and our military's air traffic control centers, so we are aware of what is suppose to be up in the air and what is not. Its a relatively small investment I'm sure Iran wished it made.

This video was heart breaking to watch. I just keep saying to myself, "what must the people on board have been thinking?"

This should be a project one of our military companies should take up, linked to high quality cameras, and market it to the military. AI enabled deep learning software coordinating with civilian and military air traffic control data.

Probably the only solace of this whole thing, those people wouldn't know much before the end. The missile was said to have exploded the undercarriage just below the cockpit, which mean mostly the passenger wouldn't know it's coming. Their last thought is probably just thinking about going home before missile hit, then sudden decompression and crashed within seconds.

Hopefully all the militaries of the world learn from this incident and take precautions to prevent it from happening again. Air travel will continue to increase, especially near global hotspots. Pakistan on its part should add this to reason it needs to invest in IRST capabilities on its fighters and SAM sites.

Also All Pakistan based civilian airliners should have enhanced E/O capabilities to prevent what happened on the PIA planes that have gone down due to inclement weather. There is also a risk they may mistaken venture towards a military base in bad weather, which could cause a similar shoot down during tensions with India.

These investments are key to keep our airspace safe, especially if we want to be able to defend ourselves but also grow our tourism industry.

I think the best thing we can ask for is there would be no war, but I don't think that's doable. The next thing we should ask for is for countries to take responsibility to close its airspace as to not allow these type of accident to happen. Regardless of what measure or counter measure one implement, there are always chances that measure failed. Accident like this would happens (just look at how Soviet Union shot down KAL007, they bloody see it and still shoot it down)

If we cannot stop war from happening, then we should stop air travel or divert them if there is a war. That is the safest things to do.

Bullshit video.....

Camera date shows 2019 date while accident / shooting happened in 2020.

I am not saying it is or it isn't.

It was mentioned in the comment section, one of the comment said the video time/date stamp was in Persian Year, which their new year does not start until March 2020.
