The picture Soheil posted is showing Sahand, another ship under construction is the "Shiraz" ship which has been described as a research ship little smaller than Jamaran:

During his visit to Iran's first marine zone in the Southern port city of Bandar Abbas on Wednesday, General Dehqan was briefed about the construction of Shiraz warship which is a research vessel and a little smaller than Iran's first home-made destroyer, Jamaran, in size.

No detailed information has yet been released by the Iranian defense ministry about the new warship

In my opinion, the main purpose for this ship is to give Iran experience in development of stealthy designs to help in the design and manufacture of much heavier ship like in the size of the 5500 ton Loghman class ship.

I think you're right about the picture , but thats no "Research ship"

i think you know how shitty their english language skills are . thats a full blown warship which is meant as a "first step" towards a new design .

Dadash, I think they should have said technology demonstrator or something like that. I would love to know if this shiraz ship also has Vertical launch systems for SAM's and cruise missiles. Iran needs to apply VLS in its future ships so it would make sense to experience using it on this experimental ship.

Yes bro , thats true .

but i doubt VLS has any technological advance than the conventional missile launch system except the fact that it takes less space . ALCON , No way in hell thats a barrier for Iran .

Fact is that our current platforms are too small to be converted for such design . as you rightfully said , we need VLS for loghman cause it takes less space in overall and you can fit more missiles into it

Yes Dadash, the Mowj class ships are very small about 1200-1400 tons. Their purpose has been mostly for gaining experience. As we can see, their designs changes considerably each time. Hopefully, once the Navy's budget has increased, we'll start seeing proper combat ships being rolled out. A Loghman class ship with VLS etc would be a very strong addition to Iranian navy.

I see zero hurdles, technologically speaking which Iran faces. Iran even produces the engines for its own ships. Nevermind the radars, SAM's, missiles etc etc.

It can carry 2 helicopters . One on the flight deck , the other inside the hangar . That's what i can see .

Look at the two hangars of Kharg ship .( Kharg can carry 3 helicopters . 2 inside hangars , 1 on the flight deck . )

Now this one :

1 - Number 1 is so short that can't be a flight deck ( unlike Mouj class ships )
2 - Flight deck
3 - Hangar
