I think this engine might be the latest variant of the WS-10, so it is still in the testing stage.

And if I ask proof ?

J-11Bs needs to be powered by a pair of 140kn engines, i don't think the early AL-31 variant that Russia sold to China can hold that much power in afterburner. And China refuses to buy any 117S, therefore she will go after her own jet engines.

And if I ask proof ?

i cant really tell (confirm) because the pics are taken from a bit far.....but if u want to see it for ur self then look carefully at the nozzles!
WS-10 has a SMALLER nozzle than AL-31...

this is AL-31

I don't think that anyone is saying that the J-11B will use one of each engine or both Russian engines, the point here is that a WS-10 is being tested. Last time we saw something like this was quite a few years ago, and since it's unlikely that the WS-10's progress has been set back by years, it's then likely that this is a modified or upgraded WS-10.

I'm sorry , you are making claims over claims without any proof. What you meant by "J-11B needs to be powered".

And China refuses to buy any 117S, therefore she will go after her own jet engines.

And can you give me any official statement about that. Anyway these are the Russian reports floating around the web couple of weeks earlier.

lol, again the Russian media, China never officially admits the deal. That's why they are pissing off over China for not buying their weapons anymore and defaming China for copying their military technology.

J-11B, as a air superior fighter, needs to be powered by 130kn, whereas J-11Bs as a figher/bomber, of course, it needs higher thrust and ratio than J-11B, just use your brain!!!

I've seen these pictures around the forum. Nozzles constricts and expands according to the behavior of air thrust. You cannot say it by outside view.
