A heli dock someday...in short they put everything on a tank ..
Helicopter defenses weren't very good back then. That seems like an advance version of soviet anti-air missile. The type which was heavily used in Vietnam against USA. These missile were very accurate against Helicopter but flares were the best counter measures now if these tank mounted anti air is multi-spectrum then Helos have no chance against these tanks as the end game will rest on range now.
China has been a reliable source of supply for some parts. Smuggling might be factor too.Has any one noticed a small camera above the anti-Air missile. Now if North Korea is under sanctions and they have those FLIR multi-spectrum sights that means either North is advancing very quickly or some one is helping them with thermal Imagery and either that is France or Kazakhstan.

No I have not. where is it?Yes I have noticed that..have you noticed the radar?
Just to the right of the main gun..No I have not. where is it?
That is true in a sense, but those systems enhance the survivability of the Tank too.. meaning without them you might lose 10 tanks to Attack helicopter, and with them you might lose utmost 2 or 3 tanks and at the same time you have eliminated a few helicopters.. the same applies to longer range than the main gun ATGMs..Stupidity indeed a single hit cause too much damage to many systems installed means single loss of tank means loss of two or three other systems.
They have other mobile air defences and improved an armour that you can see on the tanks in the second picture..Instead they should change main gun to fire ATGM and for air defense separate support systems always best options.
My suggestion for them to improve Armour add ERA plates or simply change turret with new design.

Yes true, still these North Koreans did come up with an innovative approach.. you can be sure that they have the Pantsir or its equivalent, heck they have got a Topol like ICBM!!!There is a reason why the U.S., Russia, and China and other countries don't make something like this. It makes it more complicated or complex.
You want anti air vehicles to protect tanks or other vehicles? You get something like these.
You mean the round object to the left of the main gun. It seems like a radar. If it is a RADAR it has nothing to do with air i thing that radar is there to make precision hit on an enemy tank. This is quite an innovation of fitting a small anti helo system on a tank. The twin rockets are quite helpful to make a kill after the first rocket falling for the flares the second rocket can take the kill.Just to the right of the main gun..
I know that some old soviet tanks had light projectors, but then it did not make sense anymore, and with those air defence short range missiles, a radar makes much more sense on top of the optical components..
