We previously consumed our natural gas resources irresponsibly, rather than utilising it for industrial production and increased export we burnt it for commuting sector which had an opportunity of petrol and diesel. The result is enough to open our eyes that how our short sighted and corrupt planners are playing with the future of nation, they are planning ahead for corruption and not for development.

We need to invest in electricity CHEAP electricity
Thats the future ..cars heating cooking etc can be done via that.
Electricity can be made cheap via huge solar and hydro capacity ..use solar during day and hydro at night /peak times

Estimated potential of hydro is >100,000 mw

The investment will be high but energy security is important

With solar plumting down govt can do open bidding for solar and own investment in hydro

Thats the only sustainable way going forward. Rather than focusing on discovery of hydrocarbon for energy we should focus on transforming all our energy needs on renewable nuclear and coal including cocking stoves.

The hydrocarbon should be used in manufacturing of chemicals and other products. The task can be achieved in 2 decades after which thar coal and domestic hydrocarbon can be used on polymer and petro-chemical industry and fertilizer industry which is much more profitable and generates much more job then energy sector itself.

However, to make this work we need a visionary leadership who can plan for 20 years ahead rather than for the government terms of 5 years. Infact in developed countries such long term policy making is done by institutes but our institutes are dummy entities except for military.
