New Corvette Joins Iran’s Southern Fleet [PIC]

The Iranian Navy’s fleet in the Sea of Oman took delivery of a new missile-launching warship dubbed Konarak on Monday.

In a ceremony at a naval base in Iran’s southeastern port city of Konarak, the military vessel of the same name came into service.

Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi and a number of local officials attended the event.
The homemade missile-launching corvette would enhance the Navy’s combat capabilities in the country’s southern waters.
In recent years, Iran’s naval forces have increased their presence in high seas to secure naval routes and protect vessels against pirate attacks.
The Iranian Navy dispatches flotillas, involving homegrown naval gear, to the international waters on a routine basis.

for Gods sake look at the photos , there is two Hendijan class corvette there , the one at the back which is new is Konarak , the one in front is the old one which can be seen in only one of the photos , and strangely you guys only see that old one

Amen to that...these guys keep f*cking up beyond belief....amazing to me. Why on earth would take photos of the old boat with and have a heading as a new boat introduced in service?!! (shaking head). A few weeks ago some genius used Israeli soldiers for a billboard in Mashad. Or a month ago with the bullshit reveal of Kowsar....lazy amateurs, always making us look good.

PS: Another thing can you dudes in the Navy stop hanging those Pennant flags off of military boats?

Those "Pennant flags"as you call them are actually International Maritime Signal Flags used to this day as a means of communication!
