He won't answer our questions saying it's "confidental". :-)

But i will sure to follow this AMA, thx bro.

Yeah i figured as much. The kind of information we want is certainly in the "confidential" area of things. But again if you have overal general questions i'm sure he can provide us with some ya know.

When can we realistically expect indigenous engine for Altay?

Ask him if he has any info on the number of engineers working in Turkey’s defense industry and if they are enough (in number and quality) for Turkey’s growing needs. Does he think that Turkey’s current educational system produces enough talent for a sustainable growth of the defense industry and the economy in general.

He’s already said the greatest challenge to our industry is the number of engineers leaving for western countries. And that will be the greatest challenge in coming years.
Although as indigenous projects get battle experience, confidence in our industry will grow and hopefully more ppl in Turkey will be inspired to stay and pursue careers here. (Their answer, I just paraphrased)

Oh wow this was a quite obvious answer though.

Interestingly @Saithan asked a similar question and he flat out stated that it was because of internal politcal dynamics. They dont want certain companies to be more powerfull and influental then the other, because they tend to use it as leverage. Its probably the reason why they chose Tumosan in the first place over companies such as BMC or Otokar, it doesnt really have a proper foothold in the military market.

The Dutch are hunting our engineers, do something @BordoEnes

Lmao not so much hunting then pushing them out duo to corruption and unfair job opportunities because of political/religious/cultural affiliation. The situation is not the greatest in Turkey, the Netherland on the other hand is the poster child for freedom in all aspects of life and opportunities. Plus they get paid handsomely, so there is that. I wanted to work in Turkey at one point as an Aeronautical engineer, but the environment is far to toxic for that. Imma stay in my cozy little lowland country :)
