A fine example for world how a neighboring powerful country imposes their decision on helpless / defenseless country. US / Russia should take this seriously along with Canada and Australia and stop providing arms and materials to a bully country. Who want to rule over their peaceful neighbors and always have ill intentions for all neighboring countries. For example India fought 3 wars with Pakistan over his occupied territory and help Mukti Bahini terrorists with military support. And relation between the two becomes nuclear flash point.
Sri Lanka: India created chaos in this country by helping Tamil Tigers but prove counter productive resulting his own P.M's death. They betray Sri Lanka and Tamil Tigers both.
China: They want to test their powers but again resulted in 1962 debacle. A strain in relationship still exists.
Same case with Bangladesh and Burma.

It is the other way around Nepalis and Bangladeshis flood India because of the economy and job prospects are better in India when compared to their countries.
With Nepal we have a open border treaty. i don't see any Indians lining up to settle in Nepal because it has nothing to give in return.Only Indians that go to nepal are Tourists who do Pilgrimage of Hindu holy sites.

I am surprised to see the level of knowledge some people on the forum possess...Do you know that there are millions of Nepali Citizens working in India... What has Nepal has to offer in the name of economic benefits to Indians? Nothing.

They naturally have sympathy with the elite in Nepal which is just showing the Madhesis 'their place' - just as the tall and fair West Pakistanis tried to show 'their place' to the short and dark Bengalis in 1971. Such a mind can simply not fathom that all people have to be treated equal, irrespective of colour, religion or ethnicity. Fitting words from the ideological child of Yahya Khan and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Notice the cry babies, this is wrong this is right moral keepers. they simply don't get if one can get its interests served, everything is legitimate.

Only the poor and weak cry. They don't know that Geo-politics is the survival of the fittest. Every country will/should do what serves their interests by ALL MEANS NECESSARY. Indeed,discriminating against a on the basis of ethnicity,caste or religion is completely unacceptable & unjust.We know what happens when this sort of discrimination takes place-We have the example of Sri Lanka.

Which is precisely the danger in this situation. India would be well justified in taking up the cause of Madhesis on humanitarian grounds alone. Yet, as several members on PDF had rightly pointed out earlier, our concern shouldn't take the form of confronting the Nepalese government, thereby needlessly antagonizing the Nepalese people.

Yes, the example of Sri Lanka - maybe the Indian Embassy hired a projector and showed the Nepalese government a movie on what happened in Sri Lanka, causing them to change their mind?!

Well said. Some times, the differences of opinion between Indians and Pakistanis on PDF is due to issues of perceived national interest. But as often it is because we took fundamentally different paths post-1947.
