Nepal's President: China is Nepal's all-weather partner

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with Nepal’s President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala. Wang Yi is in Nepal for a three-day official goodwill visit.

In the meeting, Yadav and Koirala said China is Nepal’s all-weather partner. Nepal supports the policy of "One China", and firmly opposes any individual conducting anti-China activities in Nepal’s territory. Wang expressed his gratitude toward Nepal for its firm support in China’s core interests. He said the development of diplomatic ties between the two countries have witnessed mutual trust and support in the past 60 years.
Wang called on the two sides to push forward closer ties and further deepen cooperation in all fields.
Also on Friday, Wang Yi met with his Nepalese counterpart Mahendra Bahadur Pandey. Wang said Beijing can help develop Nepal’s power industry to alleviate severe electricity outages that can last up to 12 hours a day in the Himalayan nation.
Wang Yi also spoke of ties between China, Nepal and India, calling on the three countries to boost cooperation and seek common development.
