BEIJING: Chinese foreign ministry said on Wednesday that neither India nor China should change the situation on the line of actual control. "Chinese defence forces have been patrolling along the Chinese side of the LAC of the China-India border," ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said.
Replying to a question about reports in Indian media about another Chinese incursion on the border, Hua said, "I am not aware of the specific situation."
She said the general situation in the border areas is stable. "We have the consensus that pending the final settlement of the boundary question no one of us should change the status quo along the LAC," said Hua.
"China would like to make joint efforts with the Indian side to safeguard peace and tranquility in the border areas," the spokeswoman said.
