Nawaz Sharif gives Rs2.5m cash prize to Mount Everest climber

ISLAMABAD: Samina Baig, the first Pakistani woman to scale Mount Everest, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday.
Congratulating Baig on scaling Everest and terming her achievement a landmark, the prime minister gave her a cash award of Rs2.5 million in recognition of her becoming the first Pakistani woman to conquer the peak.
Baig shared her feelings about conquering the 8,848 metres peak with the prime minister.
On May 19, the 22-year-old, from the small town of Shimshal in the Hunza valley, scaled the 8,848 metre peak after a gruelling expedition in rough weather.
She was accompanied by her brother Mirza Ali, who became the third and youngest Pakistani male to scale the mountain.
The Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) announced on May 22 that it will recommend Samina’s name for the pride of performance and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz awards.

Well all of these people are right...nawaz sharif should 'gift' a 10 lakh eagle to the president of UAE from government money (following in the footsteps of his brother), kia yeh fazool kharchi is par, Mount Everest char lia to kaun si bari baat hai right?

Or maybe 'gift' 2.5 crore to LDA and other contractors for completing the Metro Bus project on time...or maybe 'gift' a sitting Lahore High Court judge...what do you think?

Answer why not pay 2.5m to families who lost their children at the hands of negligence of punjab government for not introducing vaccines for measles.

i have no idea why she got the money tbh.
we are not a country that can afford to that much money to people just for their hobbies.
by climbing the mountain pakistan hasnt become a better country but that 2.5 million used towards something better for example installing solared powered street lights in rural areas wouldve been much better.

Very impressed from new PM and his family, one brother has “tahekaydar” approach and other has a hell of tax payer’s money to spend for his own sakes.
