ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called upon all institutions of the country to work together and protect the people of Pakistan.

The prime minister chaired a high-level meeting to discuss national security which was attended by the country’s top political and civilian leadership. During the meeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to the ISI for the security of the country.

A decision by the federal government to identify elements involved in terrorism and take strict action against them was taken. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said it had been stressed on the Taliban committee to ensure that the dialogue process was result-oriented.

The meeting was briefed by DG ISI Lt. General Zaheerul Islam on the security situation of the country. The DG ISI informed the meeting of developments taking place in regards to terrorist incidents and ensured that elements involved in terrorism would be identified and brought to justice.

The country’s civilian and military leadership also discussed the situation in Afghanistan post presidential elections.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lieutenant General Zaheerul-Islam, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, special assistant to the PM Syed Tariq Fatemi, and other high rank officials.

High-ups discussing Taliban talks and terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is presiding over a high-level meeting to review some important matters of the national security here in Islamabad today (Monday), SAMAA reported.

The meeting is being attended by Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, ISI chief Lt. Gen. Zaheer-ul-Islam, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi and others.

Sources said the high-ups will discuss recent wave of terrorism in the backdrops of ongoing dialogue process with Taliban militants.

The meeting will also review progress in the peace talks and conditions set by the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for extension in ceasefire.

Qadri is an ISI man and the ISI uses him whenever they feel like threatening govt. Qadri is coming to Pakistan on a sole mission to bring instability so Pakistan can be turned into another Syria.
 
i think army is a bit uncomfortable with nawaz.kiyani betted on nawaz but he was wronge. nawaz need a strong opposition then he will work fine other wise he will go out of control
