Navalny is of a distinct category of nationalistic xenophobia wielding hacks (or to use the politically correct and sanitised terminology - a "populist"). Such individuals do not command enough widespread support or respect to come to power legitimately. These "technocrats" (another western cover word deployed when these characters are being groomed for power) actually tend to subtly divide and polarise their own peoples by some means, and even stigmatise certain weaker groups while radicalising stronger groups in order to amass enough of a critical mass of power to push them towards the presidency. The divisive truth of their politics lies just beneath the surface in lieu of a soft image designed carefully for western media consumption - candles, rainbows and heart signs galore. Once such individuals are actually in complete power, their true face and history tend to become fully revealed.

Putin - not that he's some angellic figure by any stretch - at least commands respect for being forthright and genuine. Certainly, he has committed savagery against some Muslims . But it is self evident that he doesn't suffer from some ideological hatred of Muslims per se. He's neck deep defending certain Muslim groups in the middle east for example.

I'm far more suspicious of these smiling technocrat do-gooders and their true intentions that we never really will know until he's in control. The middle east, south America, Africa and eastern Europe are full of such suspicious characters brought to power by western backing simply to guarantee economic subservience regardless of their true underlying motivations or "colourful" comments about Muslims.
