Plan for expanding Karakuram Highway and Naran-Mansehra Road

MANSEHRA : National Highway Authority (NHA) is planning to expand Karakoram Highway and Naran Road.

This move is come forward after Prime Minister’s recent visit to Naran, where he got stuck in Traffic. He directed the authorities to expand highways to solve issue of heavy traffic.

Under the plan, both the roads would be expanded from the existing 33 to 66 feet width to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic that mostly remains jammed because of the heavy traffic, told by the sources.

Sources said the KKH would be widened from Mansehra to Chaterplain and Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road from Bisian to Kaghan.“We hope that the owners of markets and shops will stay within the defined limits measuring 33 feet from the centre of both sides of road and voluntarily demolish the encroachments or else the administration will do so to widen the roads..

KKH expansion is underway. But i have my doubts on Mansehra Naran Road because it's not feasible as the Babusar top remain closed for most of the year. Mansehra Naran road is very good at the moment. By widening main bazar of Naran traffic jam problem can be solved.

His Highness King Nawaz Sharif should visit all the Pakistan and I hope he will stuck in traffic every where he go so the roads of whole Pakistan will expend like that.
