This is what we were talking about in the other thread....about more likely support coming to A-stan to deal with the talibunnies:

NEW DELHI: India is likely to host Afghan President Ashraf Ghani this month eyeing to step up engagements with Kabul amid fast deteriorating relations betweenAfghanistan and Pakistan over alleged Pak-based terror attacks in the landlocked country.

It has been learnt that the Modi government could extend additional defence support to Kabul during Ghani's trip besides the four attack helicopters that were supplied to fightTaliban. Sources have told ET that a detailed, updated weapons list, which includes a request for additional choppers, heavy vehicles and spares support, has been shared with New Delhi. India has already assured Kabul that a significant part of the requests would be met.

An assurance on a step up in military hardware supply was given at a high level meeting with the national security advisor as well, sources said. There has been flurry of high level engagements since last December when Narendra Modi visited Kabul which followed by his second visit to Afghanistan (Heart) this June and meeting with Ghani at Tehran in May for the trilateral agreement between India, Iran and Afghanistan for developing Chabahar port --Delhi's gateway to Central Asia and beyond.

Ghani's visit will happen as Delhi looks to expand engagement with all its other neighbours amid its own low ties with Islamabad. And it is not just Afghanistan which is upset with Pakistan. This week Bangladesh postponed its Foreign Office Consultation with Pakistan for the second time following ongoing tensions over execution of pro-Pak war criminals.

Good timing as the those Helis are urgently needed to finish these scum once and for all.

BTW we do have around a half dozen Mi-24s which a bit of maintenance to make them fly again and from what I understand India is planning on opening up a maintenance center in Kabul, that will be a game changer.

Good Development. Some light field guns and Tanks from reserve should be provided on urgent basis. If some more Mi-35s can be restored with Russian assistance, those can be given as well.

India is making her support overt, peace through strength only. I would even go as far as sending our students there to study the physics of nuclear weapons :P

Mi-24s can be repaired with Russian assistance ( if required). Those are real threat to Talibans.

. .
We have lots of old tank reserves. But how to repair and make it operational. Even Russians will find it hard to produce some parts needed...

Something has to be done. Syria, Vietnam can help us out with their experience as they operate old Soviet Era tanks

Afghanistan needs massive tank fleet, armored vehicles, field artillery, rocket systems, mortars, mini uavs for surveillance intelligence. Helicopter fleets and light aircrafts like A10 or su 25/24... Most importantly Indians support on the ground. Training must be given in separate Military college dedicated to foreign exchange vision. Exclusively for foreign troops or with less Indian cadets....
