Najam Sethi, the prominent opinion maker of GEO TV, has resigned from GEO TV with immediate effect.
According to inside sources who confirmed to baaghi tv on condition of anonymity told baaghi that the differences between Sethi and the management of GEO TV had been going on for many months now, and they had reached a proportion where Najam had no alternative except to resign from his show.
This means that a very lucrative career with GEO TV ends after a long association.
The management of GEO TV had been worried about the depreciating popularity of the show conducted by Mr Sethi over a period of time. They believed it had a direct conflict with his PCB job as he could not give it the required time. The questioning became unbearable to a point where Mr Sethi felt a better way was to resign and quit, Baaghi TV sources disclosed.
Baaghi TV learnt that he will be doing so with immediate effect. At this point it is not clear if he will join another channel or if this is the end to a major career on television.
After today’s loss of the national cricket team at the hands of India already Mr Sethi is being taken to task on the social media and perhaps this action may dilute that to some extent.
It is still not clear if GEO TV will run his show for a while or replace him immediately with some popular and known news maker.
