NA 45 Kurram: PTI MNA Fakhr Zaman held responsible for rigging

In NA-45 Kurram constituency of the National Assembly, a report of electoral fraud through postal ballot came to light and in the investigation, PTI MNA Fakhr Zaman was found responsible for the rigging scheme.

The team headed by Joint Election Commissioner Khyber Pakhtunkhwa submitted an investigation report to the Election Commission, according to which Fakhr Zaman violated Article 175B of the Election Act, prepared fake postal ballot applications to influence the results, DSP Karam Mohammadi Khan and Special Branch official Wasiullah were also found responsible for the fraud.

Applications for postal ballots were forged, according to the police's own inquiry, almost all signatures were forged, many were for deceased and retired police officers, and those who applied for postal ballots were not on duty on election day.

On the other hand, Fakhr Zaman, an elected member of the Assembly, termed the matter as a conspiracy of the opposition and presented a fake order of the Election Commission as proof of his incompetence. Fakhr Zaman said that the opposition wanted to spoil the election by spreading fake orders.

The Election Commission in its investigation report recommended strict action against those responsible.

In the 2018 elections, JUI-F candidate Munir Khan Orakzai had won from NA-45 Kurram, but after his death, a by-election was held on this seat on February 20, 2021, in which Fakhr Zaman of PTI was declared the winner. Where as Prior to the by-elections, the Election Commission had suspected more than 600 postal ballot applications and all of them were found to be fake.

Question why is the fkud up ECP against EVMs, this will stamp out any rigging in elections, judging by ECP behaviour they are not interested in reducing rigging by introducing new technologies or methods to reduce corrupt practices, rather they are a B team of Godfather league.

The difference between PTI and PML Nerender is that nobody from PTI cries "Mujhey kiyoo nikalaaa" after being proven wrong.
They are asked to pack up and and they do so.
Also unlike PML Nerender,
No PTI Sosial medi team laulaunches insulting and border line treason campaign in favour of the proven corrupt.
So if the Said MNA has been proven wrong then unlike PML Nerender, he will get his due punishment from PTI leadership and the law and nobody will support his wrong doing.

EVMs might make it harder to stuff ballot boxes and manipulate the results using old methods, but the real risk with EVMs is systemic and large scale rigging. Besides, ECP is rightly against rushing in EVMs in the haphazard way the government wants, without trials, consultations, proper assessment of what's needed, paper trails etc.

No, he will not be punished by the party. Faisal Wowda was proved to be guilty of wrong doing party shielded him with tooth and nail and now he is a senator. Give me one example where PTI punished its sitting MNA on account of fraud??

I agree with some of the points you have mentioned,but to be honest ECP is dragging it's feet on EVMs, the least they can do is conduct trials, or trial a skeleton election in one of the constuencies and see how the EVM machine performs and try to find ways if EVM can be hacked or manipulated, so far ECP is not interested nor shown any other solutions to reduce manipulation.

All the elections that have been held in Pakistan since last 30 to 40 years have not gone without a controversy, many countries are using EVMs, so far not many countries have complained of rigging using electronic voting machines.
