According to Mysuru police, Guru was a guest at a function in the HRD centre and delivered a speech in which he “insulted” Rama.
A 59-year-old professor of journalism at University of Mysuru, who allegedly hurt religious sentiments by “insulting” Lord Rama in a speech at a function at HRD centre in Mysuru last year, was arrested Friday and remanded in judicial custody for three days.

B P Mahesh Chandra Guru was sent to prison by a judicial first class magistrate after he refused to avail bail. A case was registered against him at the Jayalakshmi Puram police station.

According to Mysuru police, Guru was a guest at a function in the HRD centre and delivered a speech in which he “insulted” Rama. Guru is known to be outspoken and his views on various issues, including politicians, has earlier drawn the ire of various groups.

And remember Kamlesh Tiwari is booked under NSA, so, it's only fair that this moron Mysuru professor is also booked under NSA act.

Good to know that at least rule of law is applied in a same manner to every one...If insulting Jesus or Muslim God is to be treated as insulting the sentiment, then it is quite expected if he is insulting Hindu God too...I would have surprised and posted the news if he would not have been arrested by the police...

We don't have a blasphemy law, probably this guy was booked under some other section on the ground of causing social tension, inciting violence, hate speech, etc. I have to check. This happened after the arrest of another guy Kamlesh Tiwari for insulting Islam. Maybe we are learning a few bad things from our neighbors.
