You mean the one besides the part where there is
1. Zero corruption
2. Focus on good governance
3. Active response to public grievances
4. Dynamic foreign policy
5. Worlds fastest growing Major economy
6. Devolution of power to state government
7. Including 300 million new back accounts
8. Massive upgrade in Road and Rail infrastructure.
Sure, the "main point" is there is no Plan B.
IT is so refreshing to see such an "Honest" and "religious unbiased" opinions.
You know, there is a lot of work Modi has intiated that will bear fruit in 3-4 years and in the decades to come- the creation of a record number of bank accounts (100s of millions), creating superior conditions for start ups etc etc most of them are macro-economic focused and thus won't translate to the man on the street but that doesn't make them any less signifcant.
I just think Modi's PR has bee abysmal so his success is massively outweighed by the negative media he receives. He might have saved India $2BN year by reducing LPG subsidy but then JNU comes along and that is all anyone really focuses on.
On the infrastructure side alone Modi deserves a hell of a lot of credit- he inhereited a backlog of projects that accounted for something like 7% of India's GDP, now 75% of those projects have been cleared.
It's a very strange situation Modi finds himself in, he very much is laying the groundwork for India's future but most people will not appreciate this for at least a decade so whilst he might be the best man for the job the nature of politics may see him lose 2019 because he put his vision for his nation ahead of short-term poltical goals.
That said, how did he win 3(?) elections in Gujarat where he too was focused on devlopment but somehow managed to translate this to the electorate?
See, the rot has set in very deep into our system. It has been institutionalized by the UPA.
To be honest, the more time that goes by the more apparent this becomes and the worse I feel about having those crooks in power for as long as they were.
The current govt has 2 things in their favor....
1) The majority they have in LS (no fear of coalition dharma)
2) A leader who is in control of the govt
Sadly, they/he is squandering it....
