Hi,

This is my 4th visit to my motherland in the last 34 years---and it has been the most disappointing visit so far---.

I have visited the cities like Islamabad---Lahore---Multan---I traveled by road.

I was shocked to see the amount of filth and trash filling the streets and side walks of the cities---. The smell of rot and decaying filth is present in all these cities---lesser in Islamabad----less in Lahore but more in Multan---.

The cities are growing without any any personality and character---. The houses in Islamabad are outrageously large---in Lahore close clustered and in Multan one on top of the other---with no finesse---.

Multan was and is the filthiest of all these three cities---disgustingly filthy---even good areas are trash heaps---.

Actually---there are no good areas left in multan---. Totally out of control and rampant construction---with no regard to the building codes---and no one to enforce them either---.

It truly looked like a nation in chaos---looked like people with no direction---a ship without a rudder---total lawlessness on the roads.

As usual---doctors on strikes and poor suffering---.

Never have I observed the plight of the poor in such a distinguishing and open manner in my prior visits as I did now---.

The hope that there was in 2007 for the poor---is no more to be seen anywhere. It is all about greed---theft and plunder now---.

Islamabad is okyish.

Lahore is basically Gujranwala with wider roads....They have no sense of responsibility when it comes to basic civic duty plus Shabaz Sharif has carved up the whole city.

Peshawar was a pleasant surprise...much more clean and less crowded. Someone told me a lot of that had to do with the Afghans being kicked out.

because in Pakistan there are no institutional effort about planing the smart cities and infrastructure or beautifying the existed city with proper master plan since decades because of "Paindow" Political parties those emphasize only on getting money.
i travel every year in Pakistan and really i also disappointed but i cant deny my love toward my Motherland. i serve my right of prosperous Pakistan. and Inshallah it will become soon if we get rid of this "Paindow" mindset.

Agreed but little bit exaggerated may be because u spent long time in most developed country and u r standards of cleanliness are high but again u r right that our cities are expanding without proper planing.

Hi,

In 2007---all these cities were fairly very clean---. Some trash noticeable on the streets of these big cities.

I noticed the change in 2014---. 2015---not that bad either---but this time---I was just blown off----so much trash and filth---specially in the middle class areas---it was shocking.

We need to educate our people they are act like aliens only consider their home is the place they own and streets belongs to mars never feel shame to throw trash on roads but Govt is equally responsible for not managing muncipal authoroties.

During eid ul adha man u can not walk on streets without placing u r hand on nose u may vomit to see they filth which we throw on streets after qurbani.

Hi,

What I missed the most was----there were no visible play grounds anywhere---. On a weekend---you could drive by and see a district level cricket team playing---you could pull on the side of the road and watch a couple of overs---.

Or there was a hockey match going on or a football match---. Now either those lands have been sold to businesses or they are walled---.

I have pity for my nehpew and niece---they have no clue what I am talking about---and what they have missed---.

No dear nothing to do with Afghans :). In fact PTI has made a very good effort though not 100% but still the effort bore results.

Lol, it's not even that bad. Chill.

A lot of construction and movement going on...and hence you see this 'chaos' of life. Pakistan is a developing country...and that's to be expected.

Although we do need more social education on how to treat our Islamic Republic as our homeland. Houses in Pakistan would be super clean...but as soon as you step out, Wallah, it's crazy.

Multan is literally a sand dump...now with Metro Bus though.

Enjoy the food, drinks, and culture @MastanKhan. That's the best part about Pakistan.

Come back after 20 years...Pakistan would either have made significant progress, or it'll be all over for the Pakistan experiment by then lol.

Hi,

What hurts me----is that there are no ' small beautiful clean ' towns in pakistan---.

All are filthy---trash heaps---no water---no sewage---no cleanliness---and that is painful.

which area in multan u live sir

You want to visit me----

Disappointing to hear that.. Was in Islamabad in 2012, It was a clean orderly city.. Karachi was a chaotic mad rush and felt very unsafe.. Never been to Multan
