Through Twitter, he should clarify all the reasons for his decision in the coming hours through a press conference. Federer hasn't gone into the details of his decision yet. However, this is what we can understand for now: the quarantine period gave him plenty of time to think and prioritize again.

Maybe he doesn't feel as competitive as he was at least until 2019, especially against Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, with the Serb now becoming his real nightmare. The only thing Roger said on Twitter is that his injury, along with the interruption of tennis for the quarantine, gave him a lot of time to talk to his family.

Now he has developed a new perspective to see things and how he wants people to remember his legacy. Roger revealed that he had accomplished everything he wanted from his career. But now the time has come for the end of his professional life.

In his career Roger Federer won 20 Slams, of which 8 Wimbledon, 6 Australian Open, 5 US Open and 1 Roland Garros, completing the career Grand Slam in 2009, when he won in Paris against Robin Soderling. In total in won 103 career titles.

Truth to be told, Roger Federer can still win several Grand Slam titles, cause this is of course a joke as it's April fool's day!

Dear readers, don't you worry, Roger Federer hasn't actually made any official announcement about the future and is career will still continue. THE TWEET

We are lucky to see Federer, Nadal, Djokovic at the same time. And hoping for a bright future for Nick Kyrgios.

Yes agreed! I do more like dominic thiem after big three.

He always give tough challenge to them and sometimes beat them also

Dominic Thiem is decent too, hoping for a bright future for them.

Andy Murray showed some class tennis at the beginning of his career, but got sidelined eventually.

I used to like Pete Sampras , but Federer is even better or I should say it was better. He is way past his prime. He is 38 which is like a dinosaur in tennis.

A true legend of the game and will be a sad day when he retires.
