The claims can be discussed in a civilized manner, but Muslims are emotional people and have forgotten the debating skills of their earlier scholars. Why don't the local Muslims sponsor a board answering these? Do they not have enough money? Or knowledge?

According to the generally accepted tradition, Ayesha (ra) was born about eight years beforeHijrah. But according to another narrative in Bukhari (Kitaab al-Tafseer) Ayesha (ra) is reported to have said that at the time Surah Al-Qamar, the 54th chapter of the Qur’an , was revealed, “I was a young girl”. The 54th Surah of the Qur’an was revealed nine years before Hijrah. According to this tradition, Ayesha (ra) had not only been born before the revelation of the referred surah, but was actually a young girl (jariyah), not an infant (sibyah) at that time. Obviously, if this narrative is held to be true, it is in clear contradiction with the narratives reported by Hisham ibn `urwah. I see absolutely no reason that after the comments of the experts on the narratives of Hisham ibn `urwah, why we should not accept this narrative to be more accurate.

The actual statements referred to in the above paragraph, their translations and their complete references are given below:

Ayesha (ra) said: I was a young girl, when verse 46 of Surah Al-Qamar, [the 54th chapter of the Qur’an ], was revealed. (Sahih Bukhari, Kitaab al-Tafseer, Arabic, Bab Qaulihi Bal al-saa`atu Maw`iduhum wa al-sa`atu adhaa wa amarr)

Ayesha was married after Hijrah (migration). Thus, if she could recall that Chapter 54 was revealed, she must have been at least 3-5 years old, plus the 9 years before hijrah, which places her at 12-14 before Hijrah and at least 14-16 before marriage. This makes it impossible that she was 9 or 6.

According to a number of narratives, Ayesha (ra) accompanied the Muslims in the battle of Badr and Uhud. Furthermore, it is also reported in books of hadith and history that no one under the age of 15 years was allowed to take part in the battle of Uhud. All the boys below 15 years of age were sent back. Ayesha‘s (ra) participation in the battle of Badr and Uhudclearly indicate that she was not nine or ten years old at that time. After all, women used to accompany men to the battle fields to help them, not to be a burden on them.

A narrative regarding Ayesha‘s (ra) participation in Badr is given in Muslim, Kitaab al-jihaad wa al-siyar, Arabic, Bab karahiyah al-isti`anah fi al-ghazwi bikafir. Ayesha (ra) while narrating the journey to Badr and one of the important events that took place in that journey, says:

"When we reached Shajarah."

It is quite obvious from these words that Ayesha (ra) was with the group traveling towardBadr.

A narrative regarding Ayesha‘s (ra) participation in the battle of `uhud is given in Bukhari,Kitaab al-jihaad wa al-siyar, Arabic, Baab Ghazwi al-nisaa wa qitalihinna ma`a al-rijaal.

Anas reports that On the day of Uhud, people could not stand their ground around the Prophet (pbuh). [On that day,] I saw Ayesha (ra) and Umm-e-Sulaim (ra), they had pulled their dress up from their feet [to save them from any hindrance in their movement].”

As far as the fact that children below 15 years were sent back and were not allowed to participate in the battle of `uhud, it is narrated in Bukhari, Kitaab al-maghaazi, Baab ghazwah al-khandaq wa hiya al-ahzaab, Arabic.

Ibn `umar (ra) states that the Prophet (pbuh) did not permit me to participate in Uhud, as at that time, I was fourteen years old. But on the day of Khandaq, when I was fifteen years old, the Prophet (pbuh) permitted my participation.”

This battle took place before Ayesha’s marriage to Prophet Muhammad, so now we see that she was at least 15-16 years old.

According to almost all the historians Asma (ra), the elder sister of Ayesha (ra) was ten years older than Ayesha (ra). It is reported in Taqreeb al-Tehzeeb as well as Al-Bidaayah wa al-Nihayahthat Asma (ra) died in 73 hijrah when she was 100 years old. Now, obviously if Asma (ra) was 100 years old in 73 hijrah she should have been 27 or 28 years old at the time of hijrah. IfAsma (ra) was 27 or 28 years old at the time of hijrah, Ayesha (ra) should have been 17 or 18 years old at that time. Thus, Ayesha (ra), if she got married in 1 AH (after hijrah) or 2 AH, was between 18 to 20 years old at the time of her marriage.

Nice try but I don't find what you have posted fabricated, insulting or aggressively attacking unlike the one I have posted. What I posted is directly an insult with an aggressive tone and with lot's of fabricated claims. I don't get triggered by people telling me that Islam is a myth.

I think the people who live outside the US doing the "white blah blah blah" stuff are jumping to conclusions due to being simply being completely ignorant of what goes on on billboards. Islam isnt the only one targeted. You name it and somebody has done a billboard against it.

Freedom of speech in America means they won't let you speak if it is inconvenient for them, though they allow free speech as long as it isn't inconvenient.
During McCarthyism, they allowed communists but when Communism started surging around the world, they started impinging on their right to free speech. I don't think they will ever tolerate propagation of Sharia law in america under freedom of speech, hell it is already banned in multiple states.

People need to be careful when talking about the West. It's not a monolith. Countries that constitute the West treat freedom of speech differently, some times vastly. Speech against holocaust denials and antisemitism is mostly in Europe, not US, where this billboard was put up.

Ya, but I know the Indian Shaikh who said it's all true would have posted several different hadiths. Which is why I sent him the block of text, so he can reply to each point one by one if he is truthful.

I have plenty of blocks of texts prepared for the likes of him lol. They think they are great intellects by recycling old allegations. This has been refuted over a hundred years ago.

Are you sure about that? Child Marriage is still very common in Africa, and the age of marriage in Scotland is still 16, and this was 12 till 1929.

The law of the Talmud also holds that a woman is of marriable age when she is 12 yrs and 6 months old and “Marrying off one’s daughter as soon after she reaches adulthood as possible, even to one’s Slave.” Talmud, Pesachim 113a]. Hasidic Jews still practice this tradition that spans back thousands of years. In fact, the Talmud presents some shocking guidance on marriage, also stating, “A maiden aged three years and a day may be acquired in marriage by coition, and if her deceased husband’s brother cohabits with her, she becomes his.” [Talmud, Sanhedrin 55b].

An anti-Muslim billboard disparaging the prophet Mohammed that can be seen from an Indiana highway on the east side of Indianapolis is drawing concern from local Muslims.

Now, Islamic leaders in Indianapolis are challenging those responsible for what they say are offensive and untrue statements to stand by their words, shed their anonymity and explain their motivations.

"It is a horrible billboard. I'm outraged by it, but saddened at the same time ... and I would like to know who is behind it," said Rima Shahid, executive director of the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. "It seems very cowardly to me. If you have some kind of stance, you should want to stand up next to your statement. I didn't think there was any room for hate in our city. This billboard tells me otherwise.

"This kind of rhetoric just furthers division in our state and makes a neighbor question a neighbor, just like I am today."

Shahid said the billboard, which she saw on southbound Interstate 465, was brought to her attention Friday by an anonymous tipster.
The all black billboard has a headline of "The Perfect Man." Underneath are six bullet points to describe that man. These points include "married a 6-year-old," "slave owner & dealer" and "13 wives, 11 at one time."

At the bottom of the billboard in yellow sits the words "Educate Truthophobes." A search of Truthophobes online leads to multiple anti-Muslim groups, specifically an Australian group with similar messaging.

U.S. Rep. Andre Carson, D-Indianapolis, said he believes the billboard is untrue and that the billboard's author takes Islamic text and history out of context "just like al-Qaeda, ISIS and the Klan do to religious texts to justify their bigotry."

Faryal Khatri, a spokeswoman for the Indianapolis-based Islamic Society of North America, said not only is the billboard not true, it is hurtful to her as a practicing Muslim.

To Khatri, the most disappointing aspect of the sign is that it could incite hate crimes toward Muslims or people perceived to be Muslim.

Since 2015, anti-Muslim hate crimes have increased by 78% in the United States, according to researchers at California State University.


Last month, a 35-year-old white supremacist is accused of fatally stabbing two men and injured another who were defending two girls — one of whom was wearing a hijab — on a light rail train in Portland, Ore. In court, the suspected attacker, Jeremy Joseph Christian, called the act "patriotism."

Carson said he is disappointed that people have decided to use their free speech protections as a platform "to spread hateful, vile things that are divisive to people."

"I think there's a way to debate and be socratic without being disrespectful or undermining people and causing a sense of isolation."

Carson called on people in the faith community to "come together and say this is unacceptable," especially in light of an upcoming "March Against Sharia," that is scheduled to occur in 28 American cities — including Chicago, Indianapolis, New York and San Bernardino, Calif., this week.


The event is organized by a group called ACT for America, a self-described grassroots national security organization.

"Sharia is incompatible (sic) with our Constitution and with American values. We stand against female genital mutilations and child marriages," state the details of the event. A representative from ACT was not available for comment.

The billboard comes at a time when there is increased scrutiny of Muslims and Islam.

In December 2015, on the campaign trail, then-presidential candidate Donald Trump called for a "total and complete ban" on Muslims entering the U.S., to prevent terrorists from entering the country.

Carson calls it "fear-mongering."

There is no organization claiming responsibility for the billboard. Shahid said the billboard also doesn't bear any company name, indicating that it is privately owned.

"It's just a group of cowards who are not even ready to put their name behind it," Shahid said as she expressed the pain she felt to see this billboard in the midst of Ramadan.

"It is very hard ... and I would like to find the people who are behind this and talk to the them about who came up with these, and it seems appropriate to use this term, alternative facts.

"Muslims represent about 3% of our state's population. The fact is that most people have never met a Muslim, and there are so many misconceptions and so many divisions, and this kind of hate furthers those divisions."

My issue with his post was his blame on Islam for the prevalence of Pedophilia or child marriage, while both have been carried out both before the founding of Islam and in non Islamic communities to this day.

I am not rejecting there is a serious problem with under age marriage in some parts of the Muslim world, but we find that in a lot of poorer countries, families prefer to give up their daughters because they have this sick mentality that daughters are a burden. Instead of joining together to fight this evil, people want to point fingers and blame the "other".

Sick people should be fought wherever they are, not just the ones you happen to hate.

Thing is Jews don't follow the more regressive teachings in the Talmud. They have moved on. That's all. :)
