Harry Potter star Afshan Azad's father and brother have been charged with threatening to kill her. Azad, 22 has appeared in four of the Harry Potter films as a classmate to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Azad's character Padma Patil even accompanied Daniel Radcliffe's Harry Potter to the ball held in 'The Goblet of Fire.'
Afshan Azad was allegedly attacked in her Manchester home on May 21, 2010. Her father Abdul Azad, 54, and her brother Ashraf Azad, 28, are due in court Tuesday. According to London's Daily Mail Abdul Azad is accused of threatening to kill his daughter. Ashraf is accused of threatening to kill and assault occasioning actual bodily harm against his sister.
According to the Daily Mail: "Afshan was studying for her AS-Levels when she was first cast in the 2005 film Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. She has since appeared in three more of the films and is in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, due for release next year. Her character was a witch who was in the same year as Harry at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry and is the identical twin sister of Parvati Patil, played by actress Shefila Chowdhury."
Afshan Azad reveals that before being cast in the Harry Potter films she never acted. She only went to the audition which was held at her former school Whalley Range High School For Girls as a joke with her friends. There was no word on why Afshan Azad's family members were planning to assault her.
