Musharraf on emergency consulted me including others: Chaudhry Shujaat
Musharraf took all on board over Nov 3 steps: Chaudhry Shujaat
ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q), Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Monday disclosed that former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf had taken all the stakeholders on board over proclamation of emergency and other steps on November 3, 2007.
“Those who claim that the former president had not held a prior consultation are lying,” the PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat, whose party was in power in federation at the time of November 3 actions, said while talking to Geo News here.
Commenting of Musharraf's treason trial, he said the government should have made the decision of putting the former dictator to trial in the Cabinet. “Levelling a treason allegation against someone is not an ordinary thing,” he added.
To a question, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said he had not met Pervez Musharraf recently and ‘what’s the harm if such a meeting does take place’.
In reply to another question regarding what advice he had given to Pervez Musharraf in connection with November 3 steps, the veteran politician said he would disclose that at an opportune time.
