The 18 trillion dollar question is how long the USA will be able to sustain the current regime which comes at a huge cost? Folks in the USA are getting so impatient with their own lives that even President Obama is pondering on why they're so much gloomy. Money is the only thing that makes them, and most of the folks in the world, happy. And, the current Afgan regime is burning them
like anything without any tangible results. The real problem lies there. Do more and fast...

It's only a matter of when not if but when the Majority Afghan Taliban pashtun ethnic group takes over, they already even now control large portions of Aghanistan, doesn't matter how much money and strength the US pours to keep the minority northern alliance in power eventually they would have to leave completely, it's inevitable.

- Look the equation is simple, you have not been taking Afghan sovereignty seriously for decades now and the post 2001 support to Afghan Talis is just another step in that direction.

- As far for other european countries or the US, they are bigger bully than you, you threaten their security interests and they will fly drones to your country and kill people on your land, can do you something about it, NO!

Moral of the story: AF- Pak should get it shit together by starting a frank discussion with each other solve their fundamental misgivings because otherwise we will both be used as tools.

/Peace

Don't be offended my friend but I consider you as an emotional troll and I don't take you seriously ;) thus hardly interested in arguing with you.

Frankly TTP has been targeted as directed by Ashraf Ghani but I will not be surprised that NDS supports them to some extent as tit for tat.

I will tell you exactly the situation as it is. When the two elephants fight it out, the lesser creatures get squashed, specially the ones who are trying to take shelter under one of them. Its unfortunate but thats how it is.

Its never our intention to harm Afghans, but when bullies from across the oceans and extra regional players are occupying Afghanistan just to harm Pakistan from there, then I am afraid we are left with no option but to do something about it.

There is zero respect to those who boot lick the occupiers, these people are transitional at best, and those who resist and fight it out, live out all of them. Its just how human history has panned out. I am not saying anything out of ordinary here.

We in Pakistan look at Kabul regime, aka northern alliance, the farsawan lot, as boot lickers of foreign occupiers and their survival depends on foreigners, so why on earth we should take them seriously? Had these people fighting the foreign occupation, like they did against the Soviets, they would have demanded respect by default. Its only Taliban who are trying to protect their motherland by resisting foreign occupation. That give them the legitimacy and respect.

For Afghans, from every walk of life, the single most important point of action should be to get rid of the foreign occupation. With one part of society backing it, the other resisting it, its only detrimental to internal peace. The rest of issues are just the offshoots.

When recently Pakistan tossed away Angoor-Ada to Afghanistan as good will gesture see what you guys have done ? LOL now we are done with you leechers. Now let us fight out and see who will be able to hold their ground longer. We have played this game in past and we are good at it. You can support TTP or whomever you like and we will play our moves.

Seal the Durand line, put mines on it and we are done with you guys.

If it's a tit for tat then why were you whining on second posto_O...

Afghanistan and Pakistan should fix their relations and stop treating each other as sworn enemies. Afghanistan needs to bury the durand line problem and accept that the world has moved on since the Durrani Empire.

@A-Team

 So how long do you think you'll be staying with us? I mean with PDF? :D It is a tough job.

There is a saying among the Afghans " You may wear the watches, But we have the Time" Of course it depends on the type of Afghan as well i.e once supporting the occupation or against it.

There was no support for Afghan taliban pre 2005. It was as you tit for tat for your support and sheltering of Baloch rebels beginning from 2006 in Kabul . So we reciprocated in kind. And we all know how Karzai supported, sheltered and gave passage to Baloch rebels to european countries on Afghani passports. If you were sincere back in 2006 we would have been fighting hand in hand.

Do you have memory loss?

1. It was Pakistan which saved Afghanistan from the Russians. If it wasn't for us, you would all be speaking Russian by now. Even the US, without Pakistan, couldn't have done it.

2. Pakistan housed 4 million of your people; nobody else would do it. I believe 1 million were given Pakistani passports, so they will never go back.

3. Despite the revulsion of many on this forum, the Taliban was the best thing to have happened to Afghanistan since the leaving of the King. They replaced a period of endless civil war and a total lack of safety and security of the average Afghan. And it was the Pakistanis who put them there. Are you happy that they have been replaced by a bunch of corrupt drug dealers and boy rapists called the Northern Alliance?

And now we are the worst thing in your eyes. I guess gratitude is not your strong point.

KABUL: A spokesman of the Afghan Taliban on Wednesday confirmed the death of the group's chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour in a US drone strike.

In a statement sent to media Wednesday, the insurgent group said its new leader is Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada, a former head of the Taliban's judiciary and one of two Mansour's deputies.

It said he was chosen at a meeting of Taliban leaders.

Sirajuddin Haqqani, head of a network blamed for many high-profile bombs attacks in Kabul in recent years, and Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, son of former leader Mullah Mohammad Omar, will serve as deputies, Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban's main spokesman, said in the statement.

Both of the new deputies had earlier been thought to be the main contenders for the top job.

Mansour was reported killed in Pakistan on Saturday when his vehicle was struck by a US drone, believed to be the first time a Taliban leader was killed in such a way inside Pakistani territory.

After Mullah Mansour
The US and Afghan governments said Mansour had been an obstacle to a peace process that had ground to a halt when he refused to participate in peace talks earlier this year. Instead, he intensified the war in Afghanistan, now in its 15th year.

Examine: Mansour was not against talks, says Nisar

Mansour had led the Taliban since last summer, when the death of the movement's founder, the one-eyed Mullah Mohammad Omar became public. Mansour ran the movement in Mullah Omar's name for more than two years.

The group saw a resurgence under the firebrand supremo with striking military victories, helping to cement his authority by burnishing his credentials as a commander.

They briefly captured the strategic northern city of Kunduz in September in their most spectacular victory in 14 years. Southern opium-rich Helmand province is almost entirely under insurgent control.

The revelation of Mullah Omar's death and Mansour's deception led to widespread mistrust, with some senior leaders leaving the group to set up their own factions.

Senior Taliban figures have said his death could strengthen the movement, as he was a divisive figure. The identity of his successor was expected to be an indication of the direction the insurgency would take, either toward peace or continued war.

Akhundzada is a religious scholar known for issuing public statements justifying the existence of the militant Taliban, their war against the Afghan government and the presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan.

His views are regarded as hawkish, and he could be expected to continue in the aggressive footsteps of Mansour.

The Taliban statement called on all Muslims to mourn Mansour for three days. It also attempted to calm any qualms among the rank and file by calling for unity and obedience to the new leader.

------------

Here we again couple of years bloodshed in Afghanistan then a drone killed new chief then again new chief again continuing bloodshed again new chief. Peace talks and peace in Afghanistan forget about it.
I think Americans indeed want fighting, instability, and blood shedding in Afghanistan. Their actions speak louder than their statements. Mullah Akhtar's killing right after the last round of peace talks and the revelation of Mullah Omer's death just before the start of the round before raises serious doubts about their intentions. Claiming that we'll kill any one perceived as a danger is the law of jungle and a disgrace for civilized world. It's not just America's world. About two hundred nations populate the earth. With the cold blooded killing of Mullah Akhtar, the world has lost a person who could really play a role in bringing peace to Afghanistan. You'll not find a Taliban chief who would personally lead his delegation during peace talks as Mullah Akhtar did. Don't expect any such commitment to peace from the new Taliban Chief. After killing their chief, only idiots would expect Taliban to come to the table. The peace indeed has lost. But then what you can expect from idiots who dropped history's only two atom bombs on human beings. Obama is going to one of the targeted cities. I am sure that will hurt so many victims and their dear ones. It's like rubbing salt on their wounds.

This is also the time for the Afghan government to realistically try to understand the dirty great game being played at the cost of Afghan and Pak blood. All these Hanud, Yahud, and Nisarah are blood thursty but keep playing good cop-bad cop with us Muslims. I wish our leaders could be sincere and visionary. How many more thousands of innocent Afghani and Pakistani Muslims need to lose their lives before our leaders would sit together to truly forgive and hug each other. Isn't it a deep shame for us all that even our leaders need guarantors to sit in their peace meetings - the guarantors who don't really want peace between them? Please think.
