LAHORE: The District and Sessions Court of Lahore has rejected the application of a private TV anchorperson Mubashir for direction to file an FIR against the Jang and Geo Group management for want of lack of proof.
Earlier, the said anchor went to a police station for this purpose but failed to give satisfactory answers to the questions of police officials. He wanted the police to lodge an FIR against the Jang and Geo Group management without having any proofs. The police refused to oblige him.
Later the anchor filed an application in the court of District and Sessions Judge Lahore seeking court direction to police for filing FIR against the Jang and Geo Group management. He alleged accused in his application that he was receiving life threats on telephone.
After hearing detailed arguments from both sides, the judge rejected the application noting that the anchor had failed to pinpoint the time and day when the alleged threats were made. The court also noted that the anchor is already defending an FIR lodged against him in Lahore.
When a lawyer for the Jang and Geo Group management was asked about the court decision, he said it is their first success that will lead to many more such successes. He said this also showed the extent of other big lies by the said anchor. He said it is their success in a Pakistani court, and the cases they are going to file in Britain would also culminate in great successes. He said they are thankful to Allah Almighty in this regard.
