Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan, the former leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly and an incumbent MQM-Pakistan MPA, was injured in a road accident near Karachi’s Toll Plaza Saturday night.
He was returning from Ghotki after meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan there.
Three guards in the vehicle with him were also injured, one critically according to hospital sources.
They were taken to a private hospital on Karachi’s Stadium Road where Hassan is said to be out of danger. Soon after the accident, MQM leaders arrived at the hospital.
MQM’s Amir Khan says his condition is out of danger and that he is conscious. He hurt his head and had to get stitches.
Faisal Sabzwari had told the media that two guards are in critical condition. Hospital sources said the condition of one guard has improved while the other is still critical.
