I'm opening this thread with the intention to discuss the possible measures that can be taken to eradicate MQM from national politics once and for all. The evidence regarding it's anti-state activities is clear and abundant and can''t be ignored anymore. The nation is already united in it's demand to see MQM disbanded, its leadership charged with treason and its network dismantled forever.
That leads to following questions, I'd like to know your opinion on the following points,
1) What steps should federal govt take in order to cleanse Karachi and Hyderabad from MQM? What role should/can army play in this regard, if they are to play any role at all. Should army foray in and steam roll every anti-state element like in 92'? Should this matter be taken up in Supreme Court and pursued through legal channels? Should govt take the diplomatic path and demand Altaf's extradition? and Or simply, rangers-led hunting should be allowed to continue the way it is right now which can also be geared up to target big fish?
What, in your opinion, would be the best course?
2) Is there a way this can be achieved with least undesirable outcomes? We'll all know, MQM is going to try its best to seal Karachi and mobilize it's assets to paralyze it for longest duration possible. What is the best damage-control procedure in this regard? On that minimizes chaos/instability and doesn't end in a scenario which provides MQM Victim/Muhajir Card to play in future?
