MQM MPs submit resignations on Altaf Hussain’s directive: sources

KARACHI: On the directive of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, the party’s members of National Assembly, provincial assembly and Senate have submitted their resignations to MQM’s parliamentary leader, sources told Geo News on Wednesday.

MQM is of the view that their voice is not being heard on any government forum, therefore, the party is left with no other option but to quit membership from National Assembly, provincial assembly and Senate, sources said.

In this connection, MQM is expected to make an official announcement shortly.

Sources further said that the party parliamentarians will quit their memberships after MQM’s Rabitta Committee accords its final approval in this regard.
The decision to resign from the national and provincial forums was taken at a meeting of MQM Rabitta Committee which was presided over by the party chief Altaf Hussain.

PML will try not to let this happen.

If seats are vacated, the biggest contender is PTI (PPP is dead). It's likely MQM might support PTI because PPP ditched them. So PML would not want PTI to come as winner as it'd make it seem like PTI is more popular. Plus winning Sindh 50 seats = HUGE chance of winning Sindh gov't next time.

I really hope the letters are accepted. The good people from MQM will join PTI and likely win election. I just hope PTI does NOT accept bad MQM members.
