The biggest motorcycle race in the world is coming soon to Indonesia! 🇮🇩 The track will be 4.32 kilometers long, with 18 turns and one main straight path. The circuit will include a paddock area with 40 garages, and provide the facility for 100,000+ spectators. VIP suites to be available for more than 7,500 people.

According to ITDC president Abdulbar M.Monsoer, the Mandalika circuit is going to be unique in providing a breathtaking view of the Indian ocean, lagoons, solar-powered villages, golf course, and areas comprising of urban and commercial buildings. All this is expected to be completed by 2021!

Indonesia has prepared its own racing team which will be sponsored by five giant state owned companies. SAG team also has joined the team as revealed in January 2021.

Mandalika Resort Project (Lombok Island)

The Mandalika Resort Project is a US$3 Billion project backed by the Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) that is set to become a world-class destination and special economic zone (SEZ). With 1175Ha of tourism-related mixed-use product, this project represents a different version of ‘Bali’ and a new approach to the island tourism model for development.

Highlights of this region include its proximity from main airport hubs such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia – housing over 10,000,000 hotel rooms (Pullman, Paramount Resort, Club Med, Grand Mercure Hotel); a theme park, eco-park, water park and mangrove park; the world-class Kuta beach Lombok, the Yacht Marina and an international street circuit (Moto GP 2021).

ITDC

PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), commonly referred to as the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), is a state-owned enterprise that specializes in the development and management of integrated tourism complexes.

For more than 45 years ITDC has presided over its flagship, The Nusa Dua, a world- renowned tourism complex in south Bali, which over the years has remained the holiday island’s most coveted destination for its many upmarket hospitality brands. The Nusa Dua began in 1974 when ITDC took over what was unproductive coastal land with the pursuit of creating a luxury tourism enclave, one that would go on to attract an upper-end demographic of international travellers and large scale conventions and exhibitions, such as the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings 2018, held at the prestigious Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC).

The development of The Nusa Dua, is the World Bank’s first tourism project for Indonesia, acted as the catalyst for Bali tourism while providing the Balinese and the Indonesian people across this legendary archipelago with a benchmark for future destinations. Those new destinations are now well underway thanks to ITDC.

Today, ITDC has been further entrusted with the development of The Mandalika along the southern coastline of Bali’s neighboring island of Lombok. With its decades of expertise as a respected tourism developer, ITDC is the country’s ideal organization for the enormous project, what has been lauded as Indonesia's next integrated destination of note, equipped with international standard facilities and attractions set in a distinct culture and peerless natural surroundings.

The Mandalika is an example of the Indonesian government’s commitment to today’s tourism industry with an aim of becoming the nation's top foreign exchange earner. In lockstep with the government, ITDC is a well-suited partner with nearly five decades of direct experience, to create planned tourism destinations throughout the country.

ITDC 100% shares are fully owned by the Republic of Indonesia represented by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia/Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), in which the Republic of Indonesia becomes the final parent entity.

Mandalika is not yet hosting Moto GP in 2021, but it will host Superbike Word Championship first which is a motor race under MotoGP management.

Lombok is an island next to Bali but unlike Bali, the island is populated by Muslim. The beachs that can be seen in this video are much better than Bali, just look on the first beach at this video, Selong Belanak Beach, hugely awesome !!

Lombok island actually is already wellknown for domestic and Westerners tourists.

This is how the race will look like inside the circuit. It is a street circuit and it will be opened to be used for public if the races are over.

First Indonesian international circuit is Sentul Circuit. It is located in Sentul, West Java and next to Jakarta. It was opened in 1993 and has been used to host many domestic and international race. Since 2017 I believe it is mostly used for domestic race.

This is drone view of the circuit

This was during 2006 where Indonesian racer, Ananda Mikola, is competing in the A1 Formula Granprix. This Granprix if I am not mistaken is quite different since the team racer represent countries.

One of graduates of Sentul circuit is Rio Haryanto that compete in F 1 Granprix 2016 and I think he is not only the first Indonesian who compete in F1 but also the first Muslim as well.

The reason we make the circuit in Lombok island is because we believe it is the next Bali. Actually it is located next to Bali. The world should know the island beauty.
