I know there exists some old thread about but that's the point to highlight that even in 2018, Pakistan leads the world. If we really invest in sports, our nation has the talent and stamina to lead the world for eons.
Also a great bit of information for new members (including me)
One correction: India has won ICC CT 5 world cups in all forms of cricket. There is a typo (1.5 which does not make sense).

I remember my childhood days where Pakistan was famous for Squash apart from Hockey and Cricket...

Even the it is a great moment to see the quality of hockey that was played by Pakistan against European nations...So Pakistan can get into its peak in Hockey and Squash with little push from your gov and corporates..

My father use to tell me about the glorious records of Pakistani sportsmen in these sports. In the last 2-3 decades we have really fallen back. But still the nation has the potential and if the govt invests in sports, we can again reach the top. We need to diversify our sporting landscape...recently Pakistani street boys won the world cup of soccer for the street boys which shows the potential.

1.5 means... One tournament in which India shared the trophy with Sri Lanka. I think it was Champions Trophy final, whitewashed.. so the finalists had to share the trophy as there was no reserve day for CT back then

Cricket has gobbled up many of our sports. Other sports that we were famous for like wrestling and native/local supports such as Kabbadi have been in severe decline. There is no substantial sports infrastructure or organization for other sports. One area that I see the immense prospective is in soccer, I saw amazing untapped potential for soccer in Pakistani youth.

Mate the total number of WC won by India is 9 that means it has to be 5 in Cricket and in not just the WC in one-dayers but I guess it include T-20 and ICC Champions trophy which Pakistan also won in 2017 and thus Pakistan has two ICC WCs so this table is older than 2017.

India has won 1 CT and shared one trophy with Sri Lanka... Hence 1.5ct

We should discourage cricket and promote other healthy sports.

More balanced approach will be to promote other sports more while keeping cricket also as one of the sports because he have invested in it and people want to play.

Eh there's no Tennis World cup.. They have grand slams and the Davis cup

And Where's Rugby WC ?League WC ? Netball WC ? Volleyball ? World championships ? Etc Etc.. Or are these confined to sports played only by Pakistan and India ? If all global sporting championships are considered no one comes close to Australia

Well I don't remember Australia winning squash World cup

Thats cos Squash doesn't have a World cup, only a championship, Because it's not a team sport, And just two Pakistanis (Jamsher and Jehangir Khan) have won the Championship 14 times between them not 30 times as falsely claimed by that graph.. Impressive nonetheless

Australians have won the Men's championship 8 times with David Palmer - 2, Rodney Eyles - 1, Rodney Martin - 1, And Geoff Hunt - 4 times

Australians have also won the Womens Championship 7 times by 6 players !!! And non from Pakistani women for obvious reasons

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Squash_Championships

So yeah this thread is nothing but a feel good post .. I just wonder if @war&peace made that graph himself or he found it in some funny meme..
