I find it very odd when people label Pakistan as an extremists country, and a country which is "only giving terrorists to the world." However isn't it ironic that it is indeed Pakistan which has the most number of Peacekeepers which the UN has deployed all over the world?

There was a person on the radio the other day, a Canadian who had just visited Afghanistan and Kenya. He explained that the Afghani and the people of Kenya were basically counting of Pakistan peacekeeps to come and help them. Evey person they saw, they thought he was a Pakistani and they were all praise for them. Its very irritating that a few dumb people have ruined the image of Pakistan, and the media is just exploiting it.

Here are the top 10 countries: Pakistan (10,173), Bangladesh (9,675), India (9,471), Nepal (3,626), Jordan (3,564), Uruguay (2,583), Italy (2,539), Ghana, Nigeria and France.

You'll find if Pakistan hands over its nukes and destroys the military, the media won't mention it again. It must be doing something right.

Doubt if Afghanis were hoping for a Pakistani UNPK force. Most of the Darri speaking Afghanis have a dislike for Pakistan...Pashtun areas may be different though.

What you attribute to the Kenyans is right on the dot. Pakistani UNPK Forces or PAKBATs to be specific in Africa have done excellent work in their Areas of Responsibility.

Plasma,

Add more lines to this and send it to me. IMO, i will publish it as an article for you. Why not every member does this? Spread a positive PR.. and these things needs to be mentioned and spreaded. If 1000 people are seeing negative Pakistani news, 100 will be able to see the positive news.

IMO, the media is the ultimate power.

Whats the IMO by the way need to understand it first? but yea am most willing to join the tide

IMO stands for In My Opinion, just like LOL, Laugh Out Loud.

I am gald that your interested. Feel free to send me anything you will write about.

Well Wikipedia is not a 100% percent reliable source, but in this case it is right.

Well I'm not the best in writing articles, I don't mind if someone else who has experience wants to do this, go for it. I can do it, however i am busy for a couple more days, i wont get much time until Thursday or Friday, and it will take me some time for me to do it. I will try my best though. :pakistan:

Oh and Blain Im not too sure about what the Afghani people think of Pakistanis, you probably know more, however that is what i heard on the radio. It could be that he just visited an area which liked Pakistanis, and didn't visit the other regions of the country.

I edited the caption of the first picture on the article to say "Pakistani peacekeepers..."

Interesting to note that was the only picture on that article that did not mention the nationality of the peacekeepers before I edited it.

What is the connection between UN Peacekeeping and Terrorism?

I haven't written just "Terrorism," I wrote that many people believe that we are just spitting out terrorists, and that is clearly not the case. Many of these who are terrorists are not even Pakistani and many people either don't know it or chose to ignore that Pakistan also has the most amount of Peace keepers. Understand the difference?

Your contention is too far fetched and it suffers the problem of the Fallacy of the Undistributed Middle.

Milk is White

White is a Stork

Therefore, Milk is a Stork!!

Very true. In such a multi ethnic nation, different areas will be pro and anti, something the kiddies on here can't comprehend.

Salim, you're obfuscating. He's made a clear and valid point about Pakistani peacekeepers doing some very good stuff all round the world which isn't reported by the media much..when one thinks of peacekeeping forces, one immediately thinks of western troops, reality seems to be different.

Chum, the issue is Terrorism and Peacekeeping.

You see the connection.

If one is blind, one can see the connection with anything that wants to.

Tell me which UN peacekeeping force in intent are not doing well?

But then are you aware of the sex scandals?

But then, I don't think that such scandals can tarnish all and everyone since most are doing a damn good job to bring some semblance of order in this troubled world.

Whenever there is the issue of Peacekeeping, no one thinks of the western forces, unless he is stupid. It is all the work of the third world and that too of the subcontinent.

The western power gives the money to sustain these operations and we work for them and die. That is the reality.

You may not have the courage to face reality, but I do!

The simple fact is that we are doing the work that they do not want to do and expose their forces or accept body bags.

There is no place for supercilious and misplaced morality, when it is all a question of economics and well being financially of the soldiers!
