Because many Indian live in these countries and the only audience.

LOL, what is the number of Indians in Bulgaria that merits their major TV station showing an Indian TV series (and why is it even dubbed?)? Do you even know?

http://www.novinite.com/articles/156673/137+Indians,+350+Chinese+Work+in+Bulgaria

A total of 137 Indians, 350 Chinese, 519 Americans, 315 Macedonians, 192 Albanians and 7435 Russians live and work in Bulgaria.

===========

And people put on Indian dances at their weddings for the Indian audience of 137 people in the whole country?

Keep digging that hole.

. . . .
there is no indian police... as policing is state subject... and even within some states big cities have their own police commisionerate ..
mumbai police is supposed to be our Scotland yard.. :)

i should be honest. pakistan police is the corrupt one. they fight terrorists best among all but police isn't only to fight terrorists.

All over the world people feel safe when they see policemen, but it's not the case in south Asia.

There is a sense of fear as soon as a policemen is spotted and people automatically say " aa gaya BC". :angry:

It varies in the world too....even developed world. I know people in Canada (a place everyone thinks are the most politest friendliest people in the world) who have really deep police hate (for cops both in canada and US)....mostly stemming from police having potential authority in taking personal possessions (i.e firearms) away....not to mention the high level of police brutality that can be found in the US especially.

There are police mobs/mafias there given the size of the economy there.....in places you least expect. Friend of mine in Denver CO had a really bad experience with it....protection money/extortion/threats you name it....because the sheriff had a grudge against him for some reason.

Cops around the world are often caricatured for a reason:

from this thread i can confidently say that south asia got the most hated police of the world. it is the only thing which even united indians and pakistanis for a cause.

@Nilgiri I don't know if the situation is the same in Canada as it is in the US,but I learned that in US police academies,they spend an incredibly high amount of time on self defense instead of dealing with conflicts managements.
An european police officer will try to desescalate a situation,while cops in the US just escalate it (using disproportionate force..) and sometimes it ends with deads on both sides.

Of course maybe,the mentalities between the police forces and populations aren't just the same everwhere.

I agree. Canada you can think of as in between. I find RCMP (the federal police) tend to be a bit closer to US style....but local province/city cops in operation in 2 provinces (Ontario, Quebec as opp/surete respectively) are closer to European style.

Overall Canada has much it shares with both US and Europe in this regard....it is a mix.

You are very correct in saying US cops put self-defense as paramount. Almost all carry a firearm at all times for that very reason. But US is slowly changing its philosophy too to make it more balanced from what I heard from a cop friend of mine who went there for training....but it will take a really long time for it to spread in the main body of police out there.

@Nilgiri @Vergennes

it's very hard to fix the tainted image of Police forces, need a lot of money, hard work and goodwill to do that

in my country the image of police is very mix, from the really bad to really friendly and currently they had become the first choice to be asked for helps in community after Army and Fire Department, although their corrupt image is still prevalence but at least they do it less today than decade ago and trying to fix it from their earnest. Recruiting good looking persons is very helpful actually to repair their bad image in the past, as people tend to looking at a handsome and beautiful woman as a good sign of lucks and had their own charms to influence people around them, and Indonesia Police department had doing that for decade after reformation era.

people in their daily activities actually will looking for help from Police who look like this

inspect your ID card like this

patrolling your roads with smile and helpfull face like this

And you know, even professionalism may came from the stick of brooms like this

and for Police, it was not a rifle their best arms. Their smile and a flower maybe become the greatest asset and weapons among all

competency is not come from the armor and rifle your holds, but from the deeds you are doing in daily life
